How to re-ignite my journey. Please help.

HigherPrimate563 (@HigherPrimate563) 8 years, 3 months ago

When I was 22, I smoked Salvia. Most people view this experience as far from enlightening but for me it blew open the doors of my consciousness. I began to question everything. I questioned death. I questioned Christianity (which was bad for christianity in terms of keeping a follower). I began to look at the world different. I saw reality as relative. Life got much better. I began to realize who I was as an individual living in this crazy world. I had beautiful opinions on issues no one I knew was thinking about.

I then dipped into Mushrooms and it helped my journey even more. I was enjoying this new mode of living and questioning and developing opinions.

But now, I’ll smoke some weed and not think about things the way I used to. I don’t question stuff as much. I still see things clearer and more realistically than I would otherwise but I don’t have the carryover to when I’m not high in my day to day life.

I just need help. The excitement I had, learning about myself and seeing the world in a new light and having these deep opinions on things is essentially gone. And I desperately want it back.

One thing I think that happened, was I began to really look at our society and our government, so on and so forth, and became very cynical and distressed. I still come up with witty, funny things to discuss but they have these negative, dark connotations connected to them and I don’t like that.

My mind’s journey has been much like the world we live in in terms of capitalism. In the beginning, there was nothing. Then, came the boom and it was bright and beautiful. It was shiny and ecstatic. And then, somewhere along the line, it got dark and gloomy and political. But unlike capitalism, I’d like to turn this around and go back to the hay day! I stumbledupon this site and signed up immediately. I hope you guys can help me. If anyone can, it’s you all! My consciousness is a train that jumped from one station to the next, but now it’s stuck here. I want the next level, and the level after that. I’m so happy I found this site.

DISCLAIMER** Sorry for the rant. It’s 2am, I’m exhausted and I just had to make sure to say something on here. Glad to have found ya’ll.

@higherprimate563, I hear what you are saying. To go from ultimate bliss that is the recognition that we are all one etc and back to reality is a fall from great heights. None the less I guess the whole point is that you use that knowledge you obtained to better your current circumstances. Each time you use an insight to better your living on this planet I believe another insight will come your way via you mushrooms etc. Its a bit like getting tools to use, the CHI/omnipresent one etc etc will give you another tool when you have used what was given first. Hope I am making sense here and that your life increases in stature. Love you. Johnny Ireland.

@filipek, Oh fuck off, you’re a real cunt, you know that? What’s up with this poxy business jargon?

Kris (328) (@kjbaran) 8 years, 3 months ago ago

@higherprimate563, Welcome to the club! My “opinion” is that you’re struggling with a mental conditioning. Realizing this is part OF stepping outside of it. They weren’t kidding when they said our brains are like computers. Try reprogramming it/ fake it till you make it! You say this is something you desperately want back. Question is, did it really even go anywhere? Love you brother :)

lifegamer (28) (@lifegamer) 8 years, 3 months ago ago

@higherprimate563, Got yourself in a bit of a rut, aye? Lookin’ for a higher high? Ever thought of challenging your fears? Few things of Life here are more exhilarating than a true, ever-available, Adrenaline Rush…Makes one Amazed, & feels Amazing. And, as human, there is little lack of fears to be challenged, is there? Plus, it’s freeing (vs. rutting) to do!

Save up & take a sky-dive…You will surely See Life differently when you return to ground level, but the ‘high’ pounds in your chest every time you recall the adventure! Then move onto parasailing…A high-fly no drug could help you imagine! No thing gets one’s socks rockin’ like looking Death in it’s face, stepping off the cliff with your ‘wings’, yellin’, “Not today, Baby!”

That’s just one suggest, Darlin’…you gots yer own creative imagination to take to yer own level(s)…Rock on with yer bad Self! Invest in the fun of throwing your fears into fits!
I wish you no less than Amazing…and Welcome to the boards, btw! :D

Thats why short cuts normally don’t work ie. Drugs. If they did work, then the whole planet would be on them, and we would all be wise and happy, living in the Golden Age again.

YHVH (462) (@spaceghost) 8 years, 3 months ago ago

@hybridext, Dude, CLEARLY he is trying to help. Wow, rude as fuck. Go back to the youtube comment section with that non sense. Are you proud?

, Maybe you have some answers to you’re questions and you haven’t realized it. Could be why you don’t question as much, you need new questions. :)

Rex (10) (@RexRF) 8 years, 3 months ago ago

Start with trying to learn something new every day. Secondly meet new people; it’s hard to expand using only your ideas. Don’t expect drugs to be the only source of epiphany, either.

Honestly, I don’t think you need to “re-ignite” anything. Maybe make a few changes, but someone’s journey doesn’t stop until they’re rockin a toe tag. Good luck to you man

James (121) (@alljuicedup) 8 years, 3 months ago ago

One thing to keep in mind is that we all go through peaks and valleys, that’s life. It is not one nice straight line up. That said, I’ve found that once you “begin the journey,” you’re on that ride for life. You may find yourself in a rut from time to time, but there’s no going back now.

The thing about the human mind is, it’s very adaptable, and what’s exciting and novel now will eventually lose its shine and seem dull and ordinary after a while. Again, that’s just human nature. There’s times where I feel like I’ve take “two steps back” only to realize I’m still thinking the same way I was, its just that I’ve grown accustomed to it so I don’t even notice I’m doing it sometimes. It’s just normal.

The good news is, eventually something will come along to shake your foundation again and awaken those new and novel feelings of excitement and growth. Stagnation is not a bad thing, it is needed to contrast the highs of that growth. Without it, growth would be meaningless. I suppose that is the ultimate irony, that without stagnation, growth itself would become stagnant and meaningless. You need both to make the other possible.

@spaceghost, No he’s not. He wants you to think he is though.

Ellie (1,363)M (@tangledupinplaid21) 8 years, 3 months ago ago

@rexrf, “rockin a toe tag”, haha. Love that.

Josh (213) (@reinvented2012) 8 years, 3 months ago ago

@hybridext, dude seriously. What’s the deal? Why you are bringing hate and negativity? Chill out.

Josh (213) (@reinvented2012) 8 years, 3 months ago ago

@higherprimate563, life moves in cycles friend. Just open your eyes again to the magnificent world around you and all the miracles that take place. Definitely some great advice from others in conquering fears and trying new and exciting things like sky diving, surfing, etc. Just keep learning new things, pick up new hobbies etc. Start to draw or write or something like that. Maybe doing that will get you involved with new people and communities that will blow your mind. We’re all here looking to live a happy, enlightened life full of memories and unforgettable experiences. Peace. Love. Good Vibes.

Barthomeloi (16) (@hybridext) 8 years, 3 months ago ago

@reinvented2012, You just don’t get it.

YHVH (462) (@spaceghost) 8 years, 3 months ago ago

@hybridext Please, explain. I’ll hear you out.

HigherPrimate563 (1) (@HigherPrimate563) 8 years, 3 months ago ago

WOW! I’ve found a new home. I posted this 8 hours ago and already this many responses. Thank you all (except @hybridext. I don’t know what that was all about but perhaps he’ll write a blog and explain.)

One of the things that really stuck was @spaceghost saying I needed new questions. I guess as a pastor’s kid, I was in a mode of no thinking, just accepting things for what they were. Once that leash was severed, I was ecstatic to be able to find all of these new modes of thought to enjoy. But now I’ve enjoyed them. I’ve developed my opinions and now it’s time to find new topics of question.

I just recently moved to the Denver area in Colorado which I think will help me to find new questions. I guess I was on this high and it just setttled now for the last year and a half and now I’m starting to get restless to go and FIND the next conscious adventure, as the last one was shoved into my head by an exceptionally awe inspiring experience.

I already love this site. I feel like this may be a BIG part of my next leg of this journey. The positive vibes I just felt reading your responses (again, except @hybridext, WHAT WAS THAT?!? lol!) was something I’ve never experienced through the internet. So thank you all. I’ve found a home. Love you all!

Josh (213) (@reinvented2012) 8 years, 3 months ago ago

@hybridext, I think you’re the only who does bro. You just lashed out at someone who generally has great insight and is helpful on this site. So if you decide you want to attack someone for helping someone else, please explain to us why. If you don’t want to fine, but nobody wants that here.

Barthomeloi (16) (@hybridext) 8 years, 3 months ago ago

@reinvented2012, ‘bro’

Anonymous (2,654) (@) 8 years, 3 months ago ago

@spaceghost, @reinvented2012, He is right, you know. I haven’t seen any negativity whatsoever. It’s like some people put an imaginary curtain in front of themselves and believe it’s going to make them better in life by staying the same. And the only thing it does is hide their weakness that only blinds them.

And what the hell does “Good Vibes” at the end of a sentence mean? “Yo dude, let us not tolerate anything that hurts us and never learn we shouldn’t be affected by it, cause goo goo ga ga.”

, Don’t mind it.

Ben (62) (@Mallorn) 8 years, 3 months ago ago

@hybridext, you just need to eat a twix and take a nap. I reject your tomfoolery

welcome welcome @higherprimate563, it may help to emphasize how unique this “journey” is to you. It consists in you entertaining all the possibilities you can think of, seeing how you would react to certain situations, how you feel about them, etc. And how you feel is often what makes the thing worth thinking about, like your religious beliefs. For instance, while an individual may feel a strong, sad loss from seeing the truth and giving up their religion, the clarity that follow can be exhilarating and fuuull of dopamine. And consider if you hadn’t questioned your religion…so many missed thoughts. So the point is to doubt and entertain all possibilities.

Receiving stories is also a great way to get thinking material. With good works you can get completely new perspectives, and get a peek into someone else’s mind. And that brings about a whole slew of changes and thoughts in you. If it’s good. That’s the whole reason I write fiction, to show people themselves, and myself, by having them entertain possibilities they might not have thought of. And this also works for my personal growth, as I imagine this crazy murder scene, and what I would do in it. If someone doesn’t imagine such a thing on their own, I do it for them.

Also, while this world is indeed terribly sad, cynicism has you forget that everyone has an equal opportunity to be generous and so on, or not. The way our minds work, it’s most healthy to accept the truth. And the truth is not that our world is full of selfish ***ks, but that our world is suffused with suffering and death. Many people don’t comprehend their own mortality until they’re almost gone. If you need a question, that one won’t disappoint.

Josh (213) (@reinvented2012) 8 years, 3 months ago ago

@hybridext, yea “bro”, just like dude, guy, man, asshole, whatever. Its a way of addressing someone.

Oh you want to say something @beyond, The other guy that is constantly putting people down and being negative and talking shit. Maybe its you 2 that are putting up fronts to seem like bad asses or to try and not show your weaknesses. Grow the fuck up.

“Yo dude, let us not tolerate anything that hurts us and never learn we shouldn’t be affected by it, cause goo goo ga ga.” I tolerate a lot and learn daily, i have been tolerating you since you joined and started posting. Where you came up with shit I dont know.

And when referring to me and @spaceghost, saying we put up a front because we want to stay the same. I am pretty sure everyone here has made extreme changes with themselves, or theyre working on it so dont make such an ignorant statement.

And yea Good Vibes, like positive vibrations, good intentions etc. Vibrations is something we all give off, and you flood this site with bad vibes.

BTW this is the negativity I was referring to. “@filipek, Oh fuck off, you’re a real cunt, you know that? What’s up with this poxy business jargon?”

So maybe you both need to look in the mirror and within yourself before you start judging and talking shit to and about others.

Anonymous (2,654) (@) 8 years, 3 months ago ago

@reinvented2012, That other guy is putting you down, because you let him put you down and he wasn’t even talking to you. Do you even realize how fucking ridiculous this is?

And I’m not going to lie. “You just lashed out at someone who generally has great insight and is helpful on this site.” I puked when I read that.

Now, addressing the problem, actually, because it is fair to share why @hybridext was so annoyed and responded impulsively, yet I understood right away.

First of all, @filipek is not helping anyone. He really wants idiots to believe he is, but he isn’t. Just today I clicked on some discussion about music to check out what is this member sharing and that guy, Filip told the member everyone should post music at the same thread, even though there’s a category on the forum called Creative Corner that should allow everyone to post their own creativity without being redirected to one thread that no one will even bother to read, because all this awesome stuff is looking like spam now. It’s just stupid.

What the fuck, seriously?

“I tolerate a lot and learn daily, i have been tolerating you since you joined and started posting.”

I joined January 2012. You seem to have joined October 2012.

I can’t believe this.

Josh (213) (@reinvented2012) 8 years, 3 months ago ago

@beyond, I dont feel put down at all actually. I was just surprised someone came out of nowhere are decided to be an asshole.

Im so glad you puked reading that comment. It was clearly an opinion that I feel holds true. Just because he wants to keep the site organized doesnt make him an ass or whatever. Clearly you 2 have something against him, so I will let you hash out your differences.

Glad to see you joined before me, but either way I just started noticing your posts well after I joined. Maybe when you joined you were such a dick to people on here, or maybe you didnt post much. Anyway I am done with this conversation, its ruining my GOOD VIBES. Oh and peace and love to all those capable of giving and accepting it.

Anonymous (2,654) (@) 8 years, 3 months ago ago

@reinvented2012, Do you even want me to be honest or what? What a fucking bullshitter. I started tolerating your bullshit since you joined.

If you’re even going to share good vibes, be in that state to share good vibes, you don’t need to say “good vibes”. To whom are you even lying to?

“Anyway I am done with this conversation, its ruining my GOOD VIBES.”

Jesus fuck.

Let me say something on the topic too, because this has been way off.

I never took mushrooms or smoke weed. And my life journey is fantastical.

Have fun with yours.

Josh (213) (@reinvented2012) 8 years, 3 months ago ago

@beyond, on the topic. Maybe you should take some mushrooms and smoke some weed. As Bob Marley says, “the herb will reveal you to yourself”.
