How to spot and connect with like-minded people in your town or area?

I’m mostly content with the fact that I live in a nature-blessed place in India.. Kerala. But as in every other part of the world, people here are politically and culturally brainwashed zombies… even though they are lovely. It’s funny that I I’ve not met someone who is literally free minded like you HEthens here..

Do you have any suggestions on how I find the people like me in my area to hang out (without coming off like a creep)?

Couchsurfing. Couchsurfing. Couchsurfing.

Can’t stress it enough. Go to meet-ups if you’re not comfortable crashing on couches. Couchsurfing is worldwide, and the people who do it have been some of the most compassionate, open-minded individuals I’ve ever met.

Yeah like Jordan said try couchsurfing. It’s really a wonderful way to meet people even if you just go to the meetups rather than stay with people. I’ve been to a few meetings and met people from all over the world, and travellers tend to be quite open minded.

Another option would be going to certain kinds of music gatherings or festivals. Reggae, dub, folk, psytrance etc. These kinds of events tend to bring like-minded people together, at least in my experience. Being in india where psytrance was essentially born (goa trance) I’m sure you could find something. That said, music scenes are vastly different wherever you go but it’s worth a shot :)

Stop looking. Naturally do the things, hobbies, and passions you have and they will come to you. Have self- enjoyment in your actions. People flock to positive emotions.
