Hey HEthens, I come to you with another loaded question. Lately I’ve been toking probably more than I should, and of this I am aware. So I’m cutting down, but still when I smoke I become lazy, I don’t want to do anything but watch tv or play video games, it’s hard for me to get out of bed when I’m high. It didn’t use to be this way when I first started smoking, instead I became creative and wanted to do a lot of things… Have any of you experiences this? Do any of you have any tips about how to motivate yourself to do things while high? To make the most of bud?
(I smoke because it helps a lot with my anxiety)
Im right there with you. Cannabis is a thought balancer. If you were active before, you were probably too active. Every period of action is followed by a period of rest, which cannabis is bestowing to you. Stay with it, exhaust it if you have to. You’ll know when its time to cut back, as long as you’re true to yourself.
Weed only makes you lazy, stupid, or incompetent IF you allow it to. It’s all about the thoughts surrounding the usage. A man once told me a story of how he used to smoke marijuana to go about his day, and one day he did DMT and was harshly told to stop abusing the most beneficial drug known to mankind. It’s a thin line between using it to your advantage and having it take you down.
With all the different strains of weed out there, there is a strain for anything you would want to accomplish. Want to climb a mountain? Get a strain that promotes energy. Want to get into a really good book with imagination? Get a strain that promotes creative cognition. Want to sleep ten hours? Get a strain that makes the body and mind tired. It’s all about how you use the drug and if used correctly it boosts your performance.
Personally, I used to smoke up to an eighth a day. I would get no where and just sit on my stoney little ass eating chips and smoking. As I grew older I began to develop symptoms of schizophrenia, bi polar, and anxiety so I stopped smoking as it made it 10x worse. As time grew on I found my spirit through LSD, DMT, and mushrooms and picked up smoking again, only this time it was different. Before I meditate, I smoke half a bowl of a strong sativa strain. The drug takes hold and it allows me to dive deeper into my subconscious. My brain eats it up like food and allows me to completely open up my mind to the universe. After the session is over, I’m sober. You see if marijuana is used correctly it will feel as if you’re functioning on a higher frequency and not just high.
Also, you should research micro dosing. There’s an article about it on here with hallucinogenics but it works with all drugs. Micro dosing is what really allows people to use the drug to their advantage throughout the day (such as anxiety) and promotes healthy function. Glorification of weed has created a stigma against the drug, when in reality if you use moderation it’ll boost your life upwards and promote healthy eating habits, sleeping habits, personality traits, and just down right happiness and love towards yourself and others.
Thanks Conner. I really enjoyed reading your post. I will definitely look into micro dosing. I wish we had more availability in terms of strains where I’m from. I often try to keep both sativas and indicas around, but often they’re hybrids and it’s very hard to come across potent sativa, I only have a few times and it did enhance my creative side.
I agree with you. I think with marijuana as with most drugs, the matter of why you are using a drug, and what you are using a drug for are the most important questions.
I find that for my philosophy studies that smoking up before allows me insight, and keeps me interested for longer, yet, in the field of economics or the maths; my brain feels like dead weight.
I was wondering if you could give me any advice on microdosing magic musrooms, I have tripped hard before, but never anything under 2.5g. Is cognitive ability possible? Me and my friend are planning on having a deep session of smoke and microshrooms, and were wondering if the ability to capture what is happening in the moment is increased, as when on mushrooms everything is so clear but it is hard to comprehend.

Your weed strain could play a role in this. Indica weed is full of more CNB and its effects are often couch lock, laziness and general mental and physical fatigue.
What you want is a more Sativa strain on weed. It’s effects are upbeat, motivational, creative energy: a mental and physical high (which can give you a big crash at the end of your trip, lol).
Just research Sativa vs indica strains and then get the right dealer to get you what you are looking for :D
(Or get stronger weed (indoor/hydroponic) , it’s effects are guaranteed to give you a new high

Yeah I understand what youre saying. I get lazy too. I read when Im bored like that. Provokes creative thought as well as a flow of words and images. You can vary the reading, not just fiction and using anything related to the topic you want to start with. Something as simple as a few words can give you the idea for the subject matter you want to paint or draw or write about. I love writing, and idk if i could share it here. lolim new
You know when you’ve gotta put the pipe down. When you refuse to after your body tells you too, you won’t feel too great about yourself. Marijuana usage is an ebb and flow, and I think what a lot people miss with it, is that it’s a tool, not a lifestyle.
You can blow your mind down with marijuana. You can lose your bliss.

I’m almost a daily user of cannabis and often wonder if I’m abusing it by societies standards ,but really don’t give a crap . But I’m careful and don’t do it till evening when I’m all done with everything that needs to get done that day . I strictly use indica to slow……..down my over active speedy brain and allow me to let go and relax for the evening most often giving me wonderful sleeps as I’m coming down . I love falling a sleep high with not a worry in the world .
As I said I never get high during the day or when there serious stuff to do on my plate (Never while working) .
But even when high in the evening I find the energy if need to do what every may comes alone . IMO it’s all about the pot your smoking older pot tends to grow some mold which can make one sleepy and lazy . Who knows how old the pot it and how it’s been stored before it’s reach you . I grow my own ‘organic’ cannabis and omg what a difference ,even the indica is a much peppier high then any I purchased and I don’t buy cheap street weed that just gives me a headache . It’s all comes down to the product ,how it’s grown and how old it is by the time you purchase it . As far as doing things while high I read a lot and if doing a project (hobbies) that takes lots of patience it’s wonderful . I usually get high around 7-8 pm, to bed by 11 and wake at 6 am refreshed and ready to take out another day out in the world.
Yes you correct I have another friend who smokes all day long and extremely functional. He suffers from ADHA and finds it helps him focus so he can work .
He’s done the traditional prescription medication route too and found most prescribed drugs gave him bad side affects . I think every ones body reacts differently .I’ve done extensive work on myself over the yrs traditional therapy ,anti depressants which all had bad side affects. Cannabis keeps me most level with really no visible side affects . I don’t every use alcohol or nicotine man made drug products of any kind .Tongue and cheek , lets not get deep here ,cannabis is a gift from my god. It use to grow naturally everywhere before it became illegal ,it was put on earth for a reason .
Again if it’s getting in your way of daily living then there is a problem .

Another thing on this topic, don’t always feel bad for doing nothing. You dont always have to do something active. Sometimes the most beautiful experiences happen when nothing is going on, and you are sitting peacefully and quietly.
