I don't think I'm better than anyone, unless they think they're better than me.

Then I know I’m better than them.

Good motto to follow or not?

Hypocrisy is always a good motto to follow. It means you’ll never stand out.

Hey Sean
Its a good motto to follow, but may be one can always think, of course in a modest manner than one is better than people around. Thinking that with a mix of modesty would boost confidence.
But when it comes to “They” thinking that they are better than us, then only thinking wouldn’t work, we need to act out and show!

There’s also this one.

“Never hate people who are jealous of you, but respect their jealousy. They’re people who think you’re better than them.”

This is something I used to live by a few years ago, and its fallen out of my train of thought until just recently, being stuck with some less than pleasant people 24/7. It doesn’t really follow my current mindset, but in my situation, not much that comes to mind really does.

@mimic wins hard. Really hard.

This perspective can only truly make sense from the perspective of false superiority over those with false superiorty.

The intant you think you are better than someone because they falsely believe that they are better than someone, you have falsely believed you’re better than someone and in the frame of this delusion you indeed should consider yourself just as lowly.

Nobody is lesser. Everyone is equally made of the same starstuff with the same Eye of God consciousness as their essence – YOUR essence

This is as great a motto as “I’m always lying”!

Ray Butler (1,423)M (@trek79) 9 years, 8 months ago ago

That is paradoxical. Equality comes in many incarnations, including the right to opinions. I prioritize by keeping myself alive while others in the world die, what right do I have? Perhaps I do because I feel I’m more deserving? Perhaps I do because I can? In ways one is better, in ways one is worse and in other ways we are equal. So many variables, perhaps infinite values, we can judge on, but only one can be foremost on your mind at any given time. Does this mean it is wrong? No, just that it is currently dominant over all the other values of personally assigned merit.

I’ve yet to find any value in comparing myself to others. I think it should be avoided.

@beyond, I was taught to appreciate people who cheat for the same reason.

@bongodeburrito, what’s your current situation? And is your picture of you or is that Jeff Bridges?

Sean LeBlanc (76) (@bongodeburrito) 9 years, 8 months ago ago

@mikeyw829, I’m deployed. Nowhere too bad, just Kuwait, but being away from the people who are actually willing to share meaningful conversation with me and being with a bunch of jackasses is more stressful than getting shot at for me. And that is Jeff Bridges in the Big Lebowski.
