Who do you think you are and why do you think that? Besides all of the labels given to you by society, who are you? Do you actually have an identity or is that just a collective image you and others have given yourself? What is an/your identity? Are we all unique or are we all the same organic matter?
I am a force of nature inspired by love and willpower, free to distinguish myself and connect with other I’s.
I try not to think about who I am anymore, I’ve gotten burnt out on trying to nail it down.
Any way the wind blows…
I feel we are all unique expressions of the same organic matter. Wouldn’t call that an identity, though.
Identity is just what you identify with. Another form of attachment. Others will see you the way they want to, we are all malleable in the eyes of others, regardless of the image we construct and cling to for ourself. I see it as a security blanket.
“A self-fulfilling prophecy” – a prediction that directly or indirectly causes itself to become true, by the very terms of the prophecy itself, due to positive feedback between belief and behavior.”
what we want we get, even if the truth hurts. the subconscious is a mother fucker with self fulfilling prophecies.
identifying with unidentification is an identity.
I know, I know. Got to keep my third eye on that shit, lest it mutate into some sort of God complex or something…
Also, its fun trying on different identities like they were costumes and makeup. Hey, its all smoke and mirrors anyway, might as well have some fun!
I do not think I will ever find the answer on the question. First of all because I am a different person every moment and since every moment is a new moment and I will never get back to the previous moment I will always be somebody else. The beauty of life and perfection is imperfection itself. What I mean by that is that there is always something I can learn from, always a field in which I can develop more than I have and there will always be new questions that will arise in the mind. I am in constant search of ‘who I am’ and I find out that there is no fixed answer on this question. I am a new person every moment and each new moment is a new opportunity to learn.
Nicely put. The reason I started this discussion is because I just wrote a whole paper on the subject and wanted to hear ideas but you summed up a bunch of mine that I wrote. Identity changes with every experience you have and every person you meet
