If you were the leader of a country…

If you had the chance to be in total control over a country, either building it from scratch or building off of what it already has. What ideas would you employ to create the best possible society?

criminals will be put into a gladiator-esque competition to provide the ultimate television show for people. This will generate funds.

I would ban corporations, domestic or multinational, from operating in my country and have a franchise style capitalist economy. We would have scientists and engineers (or generally any experts) working on creating new products and they fund their research by investments and selling franchise rights to manufactorers and/or retail outlets. This guarantees competition which guarantees quality for price and innovative progress, something that corporations do not guarantee, especially as a corporation becomes a clear dominant in their field.

Id probably legalize all drugs and prostitution, in order to get rid of the blackmarket, which draws casual users into heavier things, and reduce gang violence

I’d keep it simple as far as crime… if you have not hurt another person or damaged property, do what the fuck you want.

I would def take a peaceful country and keep it going, maybe find ways to modernize it if it wasn’t already industrialized, but not in a way that would cause the economy to go bad because of the loss of jobs. I would enjoy being the leader of a place that people enjoyed living in. Not all happy sunshine and rainbows, but honest and beneficial for everyone. I’d like to go to India or the mountains of a Buddhist temple and learn to be a leader from them, they seem to have got it right after thousands of years.
