A local man of my hometown just set a new record for running the Grand Canyon rim-to-rim in 2 hours, 51 minutes, 28 seconds. It’s usually a strenuous, 3-day 21 mile hike. He’s planning on going rim-to-rim-to-rim soon. Craaazy…
I’d love to hear about any other super intense physical feats people have heard of!
i know he’s a really popular one and I’ve seen an article or 2 about him on this website, but the Iceman is really fascinating to read about. He can withstand super cold environments and still regulate his body temperature and blood flow without hypothermia/frostbite.. cool stuff.
In the world of running the craziest story i have heard is of Dean Karnazes. He ran 50 marathons, in 50 consecutive days, in all 50 of the states of America. Doctors have tested him and say that properly fed and hydrated, and barring the needs to sleep and use the bathroom, he could run at a 7-10 mile pace FOREVER. Its an understatement to say that I’m jealous
@arenofnote, How about anyone who completes the Iron Man triathlon? I know thousands have, but for chrissake, most people can barely DRIVE 112 miles without getting tired…and you have to run a full marathon afterwards!
