Is it better to be born good, or to overcome evil nature?

This question came up while I was playing Skyrim.  It got me thinking, does a person from a less-then-respectable background but is attempting to make their life better deserve more/less respect and trust as someone who grew from a more pleasant background?

Very interesting question!

Of course, your background matters but, on the other hand, everyone has a chance…

I think all deserve an equal amount seeing they are one in the same at the end of the day. The person born that way may have had to be the “overcomer” in the last life. It is like saying which flower should be more cherished the one that blossomed 2 weeks ago or today? Both flowers blossomed and its a beautiful thing.
