Just because you smile or laugh, does that make you happy?

A deep, philosophical question I was hoping you guys can help me answer. What does being happy actually mean? I want different opinions on this! Thanks :)

Well, I used to make people laugh all the time and that made me happy. A wise proverb says that if you make people laugh, you laugh twice as hard on the inside. Some other proverbs say that laughter is the best medicine. Jack Handey says “Dad always thought laughter was the best medicine, which I guess is why several of us died of tuberculosis.”

But no, happiness is already there, you just celebrate it when you laugh or smile.

What happiness you talk about, the constant happiness, that comes from within, or the temporary happiness, that comes from external stimuli? I’ll gladly try to answer you or at least give my insight, just be a little more specific (:

A smile begets happiness, and much the same happiness begets a smile.

They are the same thing, and one must remove the innate feeling that smiling to beget happiness is fake. This is just not the case, they are one in the same, and understanding that should bring a smile to your face.
