What is the difference between knowing something is true and believing something is true?

@wilhelm, Think of it this way: if you taste an apple you will know what it tastes like. If you say an apple is sweet then you have a conceptualized understanding.
Knowing: direct experience
understanding: conceptualized idea of a knowing

@wilhelm, look at a belief as something outside of one’s self that one accepts as her/his truth. it’s not. In other words, if you weren’t born with it, it’s not yours. Peace, Love & Light ~ ricky

It’s just a matter of degrees. How sure are you?
