Im writing a post to determine types of knowledge that helps you to succeed in a social way.
So far I am aware of the following:
Knowledge of people’s intentions.
Knowledge of people’s motivations.
Knowledge of people’s responsibilities.
Knowledge of people’s Perceptions
Knowledge of people’s intelligence.
Knowledge of people’s capabilities.
Knowledge of people’s Ideas.
Knowledge of people’s Ambitions
Knowledge of people’s manipulation tactics.
Anything you could add would be of benefit thank you.
First of all, what does it mean to “succeed socially”?
Personally I would define this as actually communicating with others and being real, rather than getting caught up in social anxiety/awkwardness (something I have feared or struggled with almost my entire life).
“Succeeding socially” to me would mean actually connecting instead of barely scratching the surface of things or being fake or withholding. The things that help me with this are being aware of other people living in their own worlds, realizing that others are likely not judging and even if they are who cares? Also knowing that each person is a completely unique being that could be fun to interact with, knowing you can learn from everyone, and that if you try it’s usually possible to find something to relate to anyone on.
Respecting yourself, knowing your limitations, weaknesses, and also being humble, not overbearing. Realizing that life is a gift and your time is short, not taking anything for granted and using your abilities the best way you can, being appreciate of what you have
