Logic: The Logical Fallacy

Alex (@hollowinfinity) 8 years, 9 months ago

*Disclaimer: I am not attacking the art of logic in any way. I am personally fond of what logic is, and obviously see its benefits everywhere I go, in all branches of human life (Internal, and external)*

REASONING conducted or assessed according to strict principles of VALIDITY: “experience is a better guide to this than deductive logic”.

Think, understand, and form judgments by a process of LOGIC: “humans do not reason entirely from facts”; “the reasoning behind the review”

(of an argument or case) Clear, LOGICAL, and convincing.

In other words, Logic itself is the idea of being logical about logic or using logical logic?
Isn’t the above circular logic in itself, causing the essence of logic to be a logical fallacy?

@cosmiclemonade, Haha same here. I never could define a word completely. I wonder if the issue is in how we communicate, or language itself.

Well eventually it would have to come back on itself right?

There is only a finite number of words, the definitions couldn’t go on forever…
That is just using some logic though.

Word meanings do change overtime; being so, couldn’t you summarize logic as “Common Sense” in today’s society. Since the dictionary is old as fuck.

@hollowinfinity, I have a love-hate relationship with the english language. Its probably a combination of our language, if not all language (none are completely perfect, though its subjective), as well as how we communicate which is usually with a bunch of fallacies.
