Maternal Instinct

What happens in a mother’s brain when she is protecting her young? Like we’ve all heard those stories about mom’s lifting cars to save their kids how does that happen though? What gives a mom the power to have supernatural strength or lightning speed when protecting her young?

yeah i know what people call it haha but im curious to know if woman are able to have supernatural strength when protecting their young does that mean everyone has incredible power deep within them just waiting to be unleashed. Like if a skinny mom can lift a 1,000 pound car to save her baby, does that mean i too have the power within me to lift a 1,000 pounds at the gym? Like maybe weight doesnt exist maybe its just the limits we put in our minds.

It’s called adrenaline. Loads of it. It doesn’t just happen to mothers protecting their offspring, it happens to people in life or death situations. It pumps you up to your peak strength and speed and extremely heightens your resistance to pain.

If you read more into these stories about tiny women lifting cars, you’ll find that–more often than not–their muscles tear and get damaged because of it. What’s funny is that these people don’t even realize they’re hurt until they have time to slow down and relax.

I think the one I last learned about was a grandmother who lifted a car off her grandson. She got home later that day and just collapsed because she tore muscles in her legs doing it, but she didn’t realize or feel it until she finally cooled down.

Your brain pushes you to over your limits in order to survive. It’s pretty incredible.

And, no. I wouldn’t recommend trying to lift that much at a gym, lol. You’d hurt yourself.
