Meditation Experts: I need your help!!

As a graduation requirement for my high school I have to do a senior project that takes up hours of my time and is a learning stretch. So I have chosen to dive into the world of
m e d i t a t i o n.

Only problem is i’m inexperienced (obviously) and was wondering if anyone has any advice, techniques, mantras, or tips to really get the most from this experience… suggestions anyone??? xx

Youtube helped me a lot when i first started, there are so many resources and guides up in thurrr

Mindfullness Meditation works well for me

@melaneyg, Theres so much you can focus on!

There’s always traditional meditation- relax, calm the mind, process of eliminating thoughts.
In my opinion the most challenging but the most rewarding and can accelerate the ability to turn anything and everything into meditation, which one could say is simply awareness of thoughts.

From there you could learn to ‘meditate’ whenever a negative thought comes into the mind and consciously decide not to identify with it and replace it with a more productive thought
ex: I hate my life!!.. transmute to.. life is beautiful!!
This awareness and taking control of thought is a way to turn every activity into meditation.

Then you can get into fun stuff, deep meditative trance states like astral projection, OBE’s, thrid eye meditation, chakra meditation, and kind of exercise like ‘fire breath’ or chanting or yoga, music, drumming, physical exercise, tantra, anything that can be used to ‘center’ yourself or bring you into the present moment. Ive been fortunate enough to witness a shamanic journey, all cultures have their versions and methods of ‘meditation’ but can be vastly different but in essence what makes them all the same is that its a journey inward, which can be infinitely explored.

Third eye meditation is what I’ve been focusing on lately,
To give you an idea, visualize an apple. It not a physical item, but youre seeing it in the mind’s eye. Whatever you choose to imagine, visualize as much as you can, senses smell taste feeling color light dark emotion electricity chemical.. The whole landscape, combined with deep meditative presence you can create an entire universe in your mind to explore. This is quite effective practice for visualizing what you want your life to be like. Visualize all your wants and desires and feel what it is to be there.
