Meditation, seeing the unseen

I have been meditating for about a year now and have had very strange changes in my perception. I’m curious to see if others see the same things I do.

For example, when slowing your breathing and feeling your heart pulse through your entire body, while keeping your eyes open but going out of focus of material objects there is a bright blue, what look like a sphere of electricity at a certain point.

Another phenomena I experience is while looking just off of the sun or light, there is what appears to be waves coming off of it that can be easily distinguished and move in a flowing motion. You have to “zone out” to focus on them.

Keep in mind I have never done acid and only shrooms once. This started happening before I tried anything else. My theory on psychedelics and hallucinogens is that it is a peek into what one can achieve through meditation. Please, let me hear your thoughts.

@young-buddha, I think meditation is more of a peek into what can happen through psychedelics. I think the meditative state in which one has to get to, to achieve such a profound state of mind that is similar to a psychedelic trip requires years of meditation practice. Therefore, psychedelics can sort of give you an idea of what to aim your meditation towards. Kind of like a map.

A trip is way more limited than a pure experience. For me, a trip is a distorted peek, and far less controlled and retained. But yea, we are all different in how we experience things.

@young-buddha, I’ve had something similar to the sun waves you described. When I saw them I was looking directly at the sun as it was behind some distant (100+ metres) trees. I could see this wave like pattern radiating out in all directions, it looked fluid like all sides of it were the same yet at the same time I could sort of see the particle that made up the wave. I find it difficult to describe but I enjoyed the experience and most likely do it again next time I meditate out side, which I do every day.

@young-buddha, YES! I also see a blue-ish light. like an orb. in the center sometimes when I close my eyes and focus. I never felt any kind of energy by looking at it, but I enjoy looking at it!
I would also lay down under the sun, and shut my eyes with various amounts of pressure and see PURE colors. like pure reds, yellows, magentas.

@paralyticdreams, In my opinion, I believe the chemistry of the brain comes second to the thoughts and emotions you focus on. But since we have identified how they affect us we have been able to isolate those chemical compounds and try to compensate with an outside source of the chemical rather than deal with our emotional states. If you look into the chakra system they relate to different emotions, and I believe that every person’s life experience teaches them how to deal with those emotions in just the right way, in just the right amount of time. Every person’s experiences then coalesce together at particular points in time to advance the whole species conscious state. Peak at another octave if you will. Now for this to work you must also believe in reincarnation. Every soul has its own octaves and relative peaks. This then ties into the idea of the soul being a vibration that holds us together with the chemical compounds that make up all of this planet we dwell on.

I digress. It is very difficult for me not to go on what seems like a tangent, but is very well connected. Getting back to the brain chemistry, I believe that the brain is more of an antenna that you can adjust through focus and emotion that determines the outward change in neurochemistry as opposed to ingesting from an outside source. Which may in fact reinforce the placebo effect and how much we really don’t understand about how much our thoughts, if focused properly, can affect your ability to enter the lucid world and access chemicals like DMT within your own brain. If you are really interested I suggest the video series “Spirit Science” on youtube to get you started.

@young-buddha, Yes I do agree with you on these thoughts. And thanks for the videos, I have actually already seen a few of them, but thanks again for reminding me!
