My Blue is Not Your Blue

Vivi (@vivihubs) 8 years, 1 month ago

Everyone sees colors, since the time we were born we are familiar with the spectrum of colors we see around us. But what if my spectrum of colors is a different shade than yours? And ever since Kindergarten, we are trained to associate the color we see with the word that they teach us. So therefore my blue may not be your blue.

@vivihubs, an old philosopher Descartes first brought this up. However, recent scientific studies (that I cannot remember where I read them) suggest that my blue is pretty much the same as your blue based on the make up of our eyes. However, there is still the classic “perception is reality” and that no one will ever really know until we can read each others mind.

I used to believe that but then I think about daltonism and those test to know if you have that problem, I guess you’ve seen them, they’re numbers made of dots in a backgrund amde of different color dots. People who see colors different supposedly don’t see the numbers.
And my blue is #0000FF

The nature of truth remains independent of our interpretations about it.
