Needs create Fears

But in ultimate reality, we need nothing, and thus fear nothing. Ultimate reality is infinite and lacking nothing. We are not separate.

We will always exist, it is just a question of how. The experience of our lives beginning and ending is really nothing more than the onset and dissolution of our idea of ourselves as "separate".

Well said Aaron :) It can be hard to swallow sometimes.. but everything from that job, to that car, to having kids, to everything, as much as you might think you “need” it, you don’t. When you think you need something… you fear the disappointment of not getting it.
With that said–I’m on my way to school and I neeeeeeeed to pass this performance exam-wish me luck :)

Fear me thinks only comes when you’re expecting the worst or when you attach yourself to an outcome..Expect nothing of no1 andstop caring about what others want and u will never be let down, but beat your own expectations and follow your bliss.. you will never let yourself down.. POW!!!

@Em Good luck and wish me luck on my performance exam.

Are you talking about music, and if so what instrument do you play?

@em, wishing you luck, love and positive vibes, hope they arrive in time for your exam ^^

A girl I loved and still love once hugged me in the streets and told me she was grateful to have me as a friend. In that instant I felt so much gratitude for life. I thought that if that were to be the only moment in my life it would have been ‘worth it’ and perfect. So after that moment I’ve considered everything else as a gift. That moment right there fulfilled my life’s purpose and now every moment I get is not needed but greatly appreciated. I wrote a poem about it which I I’m going to let you read only because I had a little too much whisky. Man I love scotch!

—-
My hands are kind of restless,
These thoughts not really new.
And hidden beneath my navel,
A total lack of you.

My precious little love machine,
I don’t know what to do.
As much as you’re enslaved to me,
I am a slave to you.

I really try to love you,
in an Olympic kind of way.
Not the triumph but the struggle,
not to win but to play the game.

I love to touch you everywhere,
You hugged me in the street,
and then you went and freed me from,
my every want and need.

I said that you were evil,
You asked for number two.
but every new description lacks,
the beauty that is you.

Aww Ramo that was sweet :) How are you feeling this am? haha The best things in life are free right?
Well—I failed…such a harsh word isnt’ it?? I have one more chance in a week… But goes to show, I didn’t really neeeeed to pass bc I’m still here to tell the tale :) Aaron It’s in a hospital clinical setting-I’m in nursing school (it was a technicality & made me despise the general ‘education system’ even more).. but I did play the piano & clarinet back in the day. Thank you for the good vibes, send em again next tuesday :)

@cosmiclemonade, on the original topic, I agree that fear is a child of need. But, since we already know fear and its grinding power, can we totally be free of it even if we erase our needs, or learn how to curb them so strongly that the cord is severed between the two?

In other words, would it take a newborn raised without needs to create a human without fear? Wouldn’t that newborn develop instinctual fear until he understood all that we understand about fear and its connection to needs?

I believe that theoretically you are correct. But your idea is illusive when played out in reality. Nonetheless, very good brain food. :)

@cosmiclemonade yes, in theory what you say makes total sense. In the ‘real’ world it doesn’t make sense unless you want to live at a monastery the rest of your life. The only thing we really fear is fear itself so if you can somehow get over your fear of… well fear, then the rest will flow without. Let your light shine through the darkness.
