What does one mean by ”we are all Light”?
This seems like some religion non-sense.
How did people come to this conclusion?
As far as I know light reflects off matter and the waves enter through our eyes where the information is carried to our brain and then it is ‘decoded’ by our brains/minds in order for us to perceive it.
But are we spiritual beings made of Light? That’s just made up bullshit. Anyone care to disagree?
People use this crazy thing called science.
Fun fact, the universe and everything in it, including you me and Dupree, are ‘made up’ of 99.9999999999999% empty space, just like that thing that happens when you try and flip a switch after a night out.
Kinda makes you feel like an easter egg, dunnit?
@stefan, scientifically when we see each other we are actually just picking up light that is reflected off us. The density of matter has this barrier or force field that gives us substance. That substance, depending on certain chemical and atomic bonds, can be the difference between light passing through (transparent) and light bouncing off.
The funny thing about matter and how we percieve the light bouncing off it is that these force fields are a result of vibrations at resonate frequencies. Everything we are is sound while everything see is light.
@stefan I think if one were to say “we are all light” in a religious context, I doubt they would mean to say so in a literal way. I think the meaning one would try to get across is that we are all good. Now, to the degree by which we are good varies extremely, but I think that’s the main message coming from a religious standpoint.
@stefan, light is the messenger of life, because it is alive and contains all information. Life is the force of the absolute, the supreme, the creator who creates everything, the main spirit, the OG, the universe what evr you want to call IT. HUman perception is light perceiving light, matter is a mirror it reflects light to create images of that light. In toltec teaching a star is called tonal and the light in between the nagual, without the 2 there is no life. Life mixes the two in different ways to create different manifestations of life. Everything is the same we are the same, you are a mirror.
Hmm I been following this “new age of light” as well, maybe it could be percieved from a faulty understanding of the notion of what “I am”, am I the atoms of which my body consists or am I the memories that shape the person I’ve become trough the experiences of my lifetime, if the latter is the more appealing to one person, then maybe they argue that what “I am” is based purely on light since all experiences originate from what we see. But this is not true, we can have very strong experiences from sound alone, and also, what would blind people say to that notion ;-) So I guess “We are vibration” would be a better and more correct term..?
everything is light, however only a small range of electro-magnetic frequencies are visible light. e=mc^2 says that energy can be converted into matter and matter into energy. energy is the ability to do work, that is cause displacement. we know light can do work because of heat transfer applications and solar pannels and the photo-electric effect. we know that light is both a wave and a particle. When viewed as a particle we call it a photon: a little packet of light energy.
which reminds me, a photon was checking in at the concierge at an airport and the receptionist asked “Do you have any bags to check?” and the photon replies “No thanks, I’m traveling light.”
Also, there’s something called the golfball paradox or dilemma. Let there be an object that cannot be seen, but is known to exist in the field of a driving range. The only way to find out what properties of the invisible object is to hit it with golfballs and measure how the golfballs react with the object. The result ends up being that the object that we were measuring ends up looking like a golfball itself because we couldn’t obtain direct measurements of the object. Now take the object to be a subatomic particle and let our golfballs be the electromagnetic fields of an electron microscope.
Also, I have to apologize to the people who know physics much better than myself as this argument is an amalgamation of facts and anecdotes.
@stefan, when used in spiritual context a being of light has nothing to do with the color or wavelengths. Its simply someone who lives with compassion, love, creativity and see’s the bigger picture. A being who lives in “dark” lives for money, competetion, ego, the whole dog eat dog mentality and only cares about personal gains not the gains of humanity as a whole.
Scientology… Catholicism… Westboro… New Age Light…
I’m on a mission from Gad
I’m kind of shocked to be honest. I thought most HEthens were a little new age. I’ll try and give you my best explaination.
Science deals with the physical world and spiritual deals with the metaphysical world. Most people view the world with a scientific view and I guess regilious people tend to or try to look at the world as spiritual (I kinda disagree with that though.) New agers combine or see spiritual and scientific matters as the same thing. They kind of strive to explain or make sense of spiritual matters with a scientific view.
If you will, entertain this notion for a minute: you are not a physical body that has a soul, but a soul that temporarly inhabits a physical body.
As I understand, when new agers express the phrase “we are light”, they are talking about our soul, our consciousness. We are multidimensional beings or our consciousness is multidimensional. Light is vibration as is everything else in the universe. Your physical body, your soul, your emotions, your entire being is energetic vibration or light.
Like when someone says “Your really messing with my vibe”, they’re talking about their vibration. Love, happiness, inpiration, motivation are all really high vibrations. Hate, sorrow, things like that are low vibrations.
I could go deeper and talk about chakras and lightworkers and other new age stuff, but I wont. I researched this stuff for most of last year when I started questioning my own spirituality. I recommend you do more of your own research on this topic. It always starts off as a simple question. Then when you start to research more stuff about it, the amount of info you find is overwhelming.
I hope I shedded a little “light” on the situation. Pun totally intended :)
@trek79, That means that the past is written somewhere in a galaxy far far away, stored in groups of light photons which reflected off the earth at any time time during the past, which haven’t come in contact with anything else and are still freely travelling at light speed through the universe. All it takes is an eye to come across them, if my physics is correct, haha. I agree with what you say, except ”Everything we are is sound”. Did you mean ‘hear’ instead of ‘are’? I might have just misunderstood you.
@maximo23, I disagree with that. It contains visual information. Sound waves contain auditory information. Blind people never experience light, yet they are alive and receive information through other means.
@gismo, Yes. The idea that you are the memories that shaped you is just an identity. ”We are vibration” still doesn’t sound correct, because in the same sense you can claim that we are atoms, or we are energy. I think we ultimately cannot answer that question, we are just what we express ourselves to be.
@kosta33, I believe the claim is more of a truth rather than a category which certain people fit in. The claim that we are light includes everyone, and ultimately not everyone lives with compassion, creativity and sees the bigger picture.
@cjb5, I have experimented with psychedelics, although I haven’t had a breakthrough with Mr. Dimitri because the dose was small. I remember one time on LSD I was shaking intensely and uncontrollably and it felt like my whole body was dense with bright light and i saw the glare of the light through my body, sort of like an aura, I was having a euphoric rush, felt like all my atoms were vibrating at an extremely high frequency and i was about to disintegrate, haha.
I used to be interested in New Age philosophy, and still am to some extent, but to believe a lot of it with certainty is blindly accepting the false truth as it seems to me. What do you refer to as a soul? It’s quite a broad word now. You can say we have a ‘soul’, because aside the physical body we inhibit there is ”aliveness” or ”consciousness” which is being expressed. But that’s as far as you can go with certainty, because everyone of us is certain that we are alive. To say that we all have souls that will leave this body and eventually inhibit one is a blind assumption and there is no evidence, atleast from what I know, that points to it.
Tell me, why do you refer ‘love, inspiration, etc.’ as high vibrations? Of course I’ve heard this said a lot, but are we really vibrating at a higher frequency? Or are those words not to be taken literally? Chakras as well, there is no evidence that they exist and the effects they have might just be placebo effects… belief is a powerful thing.
@stefan, No, we literally are sound, everything we are and everything we touch is the result of “forcefields” (for lack of a more understandable word) and these are generated by sound that causes vibrations at resonate frequencies. Basically, sounds at certain levels repel other sounds, make them unable to pass through each other.
And yes, there is light out there from Earth that if you could travel fast enough to get in front of, you could see the history of Earth unfold, but you would still need a telescope of such power to be able to see the Earth clearly despite how far from it you would have to be, and also it could be that the light has stretched in breadth also, you would need a phenomenally huge receiver to be able to gather the light.
wave particle duality. It sounds stupid if you limit your reality, but everything including light has this characteristic. It’s actually very literal. Some people will say it’s bullshit though because they don’t take in the idea that we really know nothing about the universe.
all particles exhibit both wave and particle properties, which is a very central idea in quantum mechanics. That means it can physically exist, or exist as a vibration, and is perpetually working into one phase and out of another. we’re more like light than one would think.
I dont really know what a soul is. I only guess and make assumption of what it is or could be. I have theorized about its existence. I call it my Dreaming Soul Theory(https://www.highexistence.com/topic/dreaming-soul-theory/) I’ve heard new agers suggest that it is the non-physical part of your being? Your essense? Your true higher self? I dont know for sure. No one can know anything outside of their experience. Truth isn’t objective. Truth is what is consistent relative to what you observe and experience. To me, if a soul exist, then this place we call reality is like a dream. Once we die, our soul could wake up back to its reality or something along those lines.
This is a little hard to explain. How do you know a fire is hot or a chunk of ice is cold? You feel it. The way I understand it, vibrations are the same thing. Like when your depressed you feel horrible, like you dropped down into a pit of despair. When your happy, you feel really good about yourself and are above anything else in a sense. Nothing can bring you down.
You are more intune with this physical world or are more aware of it, so you can better understand it. Spiritual is not physical, its metaphysical. To become more aware of spiritual phenomenon such as chakras and what not, you have to raise your vibration, which is raising your spiritual awareness. I describe raising your vibration as raising your physical elevation. The higher up you go, the more you observe and witness. The higher your vibration, you will consciously become more aware of the metaphysical. I did this threw meditation. It all started with meditation, becoming more aware, man.
Ive experienced some stuff that I can’t explain, so I had to go off others explainations. You don’t really know if any of their explanations are true though, you just cant. Anything outside of your observation or experience has to be considered a lie. Come up with your on theories about these things and research them. Draw conclusions from what you find and make your own decisions. I tend to believe in a soul and chakras because of my own experinces and my own research. Its like, if someone tells you something that you have never told anyone, you kind of listen more to what they have to say. You label them as a legitimate source that you can trust in a sense.
@stefan, Im still a part of you even though you cant feel me. I think you are being a bit to technical about it. light can be transmitted through the heart, emotion is light, our senses can transmite light. What i told you before was just a story, its up to you, take it how you want. Im sure there is blind man out there who can visualise what I was talking about more clearly, than you and I.
