Welcome to the first of many monthly HE 30 day challenges!
We ran a poll to choose the challenge, and the winner was meditation, with dream journaling as a close second.
The rules are simple:
1) Meditate at least once daily (even if for 2 minutes)
2) Come back to this thread and post a something about your experience
3) Gradually lengthen your meditation period
It’s okay if you forget to post somedays. Just make sure to at least get your 5 minutes in!
P.S. This will be one of the first ‘badges’ we hand out with our new HE achievement/points/fun system in mid-February :)
Here are some resources if you…
Example post from my morning:
Today I went with my usual walking meditation. I live in downtown Portland, but there’s one street on me with barely any people on it in the morning that’s perfect for a peaceful walk. Sometimes my mind wanders and comes up with ideas. I quickly note them on my phone, and then drift back into meditation. I try to simply observe what’s happening around me without thought or judgement. You certainly notice things that you wouldn’t normally see :)
In aswell :) Already meditated this morning for about 10 minutes. It’s a beginning. I think I’ll try to meditate in the morning and in the evening. Mornings are always somewhat more difficult for me, sleepy head and stuff. But this 30-days thing will be a welcome motivation!
I made paleo pancakes and had a meditative meal this morning. It’s super cold right now in Kansas so I’m having a “stay in spiritual Sunday”. Happy to find this challenge. I am no stranger to meditation, I love adding new spins on it whenever possible and this seems right up my alley.
This doesnt really count but on the 31th, Yesterday, I went on a nice walk trough town and I remember how much I have changed the last year. The cold air was good for me and when I walked trough the door I was kinda sad that it was over. I should walk more often.
Today I was cleaning out my freezer (I had to take a brake with writing my thesis, which is now officially finished! woohooo!) and I had to scrape off big blocks of ice. So I decided to collect these in a bucket, fill it up with water and do some cold feet and hands meditation – wim hof style. I did a 10 min feet one twice, and a 10 minute hands one. Was pretty awesome, going really deeply into the cold and consciously open up my veins and up my metabolism. Now it feels like I walked 20 miles tho.
Good luck everyone :)
(also, be sure to report back if you didn’t do it today as well. We can support & inspire <3
January was the first time I ever went a whole month meditating everydY – you really begin to see the improvements – I am using the Brain Evolution System for the first 6 months of the year now I’m on level two – it is a half hour everyday and is high quality binural beats masked with soothing sounds. Good luck to everyone!
Yesterday, 2-1-15, I was laying down when I was meditating and i started thinking about relgion. I’m not part of a relgion because i feel that faith should be a very privet matter. I think that we will be jugged by our life and that we wil be reborn as a reward/punishment for our past life.Thats why I feel that we should live in peace and harmony and that we should take care pf each other. sorry for the bad grammar and spelling, I’m typing this in a hurry. more tonight.
Im in ! Day one check – today I was a bit down so these 10min meditaion lifted my spirit . I feelt a bit dizzy while meditaing thought . Well I started meditation several times but never stuck with it so now I am excitied about this challenge , perhaps I will manage to actually form it into a habit
Meditating for around 15 minutes daily in the morning since past month. My way goes like this — first take 10 deep breaths to clear your mind, then I recite in my mind important positive suggestions to myself like I will accomplish this and that today. Then again take 10 deep breaths to close off the meditation.
I think I am able to handle different situations of daily life in much better way by this meditation. It’s like I have become more of a stoic.
It’s awesome to see so many responses already. I already meditate everyday so this should be a breeze. I’m really interested in sharing my experiences and reading about other people’s meditation experiences.
I meditated this morning but I forgot to look at the clock before I sat down. I know it was between 10-20 minutes but that’s about it. Nothing special to report, I had a tough time relaxing and I didn’t really accomplish anything. Oh well, just trying to clear my head for a while in the morning always help me out for the rest of the day.
