There has been speculation that Ophiucus (The Snake Bearer) is now the 13th sign of the zodiac. I’ve been asked to present on this topic but I don’t really understand what’s happened. Most of the debate revolves around the different definitions of constellation and sign. It is agreed the ophiucus is an existing constellation supposed to represent asclepius or imhotep.

Capricorn: January 20 to February 16
Aquarius: February 16 to March 11
Pisces: March 11 to April 18.
Aries: April 18 to May 13
Taurus: May 13 to June 21.
Gemini: June 21 to July 20
Cancer: July 20 to August 10
Leo: August 10 to September 16
Virgo: September 16 to October 30
Libra: October 30 to November 23
Scorpio: November 23 to November 29
Ophiuchus: November 29 to December 17
Sagittarius: December 17 to January 20

What do you guys think about this information? Do you believe it? Do you know what any of it means?

@d503, Astrology is a pseudo-science therefore it can mean whatever you want it to mean. Your zodiac sign corresponds with the position of the sun relative to constellations as they appear, like what, two-thousand years ago. . Though zodiac signs have their root in astronomy, that can only explain the position of the stars in the sky, and it’s up to you to determine what, if anything, their alignment signifies.

There’s “always” been 13 signs in the zodiac (by “always” I mean since the oldest records of astrology.)

The “13th” sign is usually called serpentarius.

@d503, I’ve seen the zodiac tied in with the monotheistic religions very convincingly in the movie/documentary “Zeitgeist.”

I don’t know how valid the claims are because I couldn’t be bothered to research it, but from what they presented it sounded like a pretty cool explanation.
