Hello Hethens,

One of the most important things that I have come to realize in my 24 years on earth is that no matter what it is that you’re doing in life, the people are always the most important part of that experience. Whether you’re traveling, at work, on a team, whatever. The other people that you are involved with are always the most important part of it.

I think we take this for granted so much in day to day life. I know I certainly do. This realization just hit me today. Currently, I’m getting ready to move. I had moved to Delaware for a job and after having been here a year, I’m going through the process of saying all my final goodbyes to everyone. This has made me realize just how much of an impact other people have on my life & how big my impact has been on theirs. People like my coworkers, who I take for granted. They’ve contributed to shaping my work experience for the past year. I’ve shared moments of my life with them. Things like just joking around in the office or going to lunch together. Or maybe times when I was pissed off at them for things they did. Those are all contributing factors to my experience of life. They may seem so small and insignificant at the time, but they’re not. And the thing is, we all contribute to shaping each others experiences. The connections and interactions we have with other people are so important. Their value is so much more than we realize.

On one hand, I’m so mad at myself for all the time that I wasted thinking about future events & things I have planned. I had been counting down the days until my departure and now that it is less than a week away, the reality that I most likely will never see these people again is smacking me right in the face. But on the other hand, I understand that we have to go through experiences like this in order to learn and grow from them.

When I think back to past experiences in my life, like playing football in high school for example, the things I remember most weren’t the games or our team record. It was the times I had with my teammates, on & off the field. The locker room jokes, the stupid things teammates did & got in trouble for, stuff like that. Or when I travel, sure the sites I visit are beautiful & amazing, but the people that I meet along the way are always the best & most memorable part of the journey.

I believe that if all people realized this, we wouldn’t live in the world that we live in today. A world with so much greed, selfishness, hatred, violence & murder. We’re all in this together. We all contribute & share with one another. Our encounters have an impact on one another.

So all I ask is that you keep it in mind just how important other people are.

Peace & thanks for taking time to read this
