Perception of Dreams as Reality

Dreams of mine tend to stay in my memory just as well as events that have happened in my waking state. So much so that I’ll have flashbacks of dreams from my childhood. My flashbacks of memories, dreams or reality, tend to happen all the time and come from a wide range of years (I am only 22, however). But what troubles me is the fear that I’ll start to perceive these dreams in my memory as actual events that have happened in reality because I can recall them just as well. It is frightening to think that this may happen, and will happen if I live long enough. The other day I had a flashback but I am not sure if it was a memory from a psychedelic trip or if it was from a dream.

So my question is does anyone else experience this or have any thoughts/input?

Dreams stay in my memory too, although I don’t recall any from before I was 16. Personally I find dreams to be more real that real life, and that is how I know I won’t mistake them for real events.
There is nothing I have found on earth that is more enjoyable than dreaming.

I should add that memories of dreams are very detailed to the point that I could draw scenes from them (that is, if I could draw well). I also have deja vu that is very sharp, psychology explains that away as just a similar mental state and stimuli that you’ve experienced. It is also more likely to occur in people that have taken mushrooms, which is very intriguing to me.

@steppenwolf, Forgetting that your memory of dreams are just dreams, I think that may well be a common thing, people remember the same event in different ways, memory acts like a Chinese whisper, but keep in perspective that memories and dreams do not define you.

It is very cliché but Love is a compass, we all have this notion of what love is and we can hold it up to our actions, to see if what we see and do conforms to that notion of love. People depend a lot on their experience to decide what is the best thing to do in any given situation, but that is just one resource you have available to you, triangulate with your other senses (if that makes sense?)

I can remember most of my dreams, but they are like very distinguishable from real life. I’ve had like four or five dreams that were super real. I remembered them later and had trouble telling if they’re real or dream. I’m taking they were dreams..

Maybe keep a notebooks and wrote them down as you wakeup. Maybe it will help solidify the idea that thse were dreams, not memories.

Lately I have been having what I refer to as “reality dreams”; in other words, when I dream and wake up I have no idea whether it happened or if it was just a dream. The fact I hold a BS psychology led me to think I was losing touch with reality. However, ever since I was a child, I had the ability to see people who have passed on; later in life around 5 years ago I became what I refer to as “blocked”. Recently, I joined a Facebook group for psychics and clairvoyance; I chatted with a male who has psychic ability and is a reader on the site. He said; ” I was an amazing reader because when I asked you to read me, you were able to do so w/o a picture, name of the person. In this group they ask for an up close picture of you/ or whoever you want the reading about; I guess it helps them to channel better. Although, I may not be a medium anymore, I can still predict or am very spiritually intuitive. With all that said, I was wondering if any one could relate or have advice on what is happening to me?
