Political Elections of the Future

If you’re an American, you have most likely witnessed first-hand the insane amount of flaws (not to mention annoyances) that come with political campaigns and elections. Usually only two, virtually opposite candidates become the only options when it comes down to voting, while other potentially great leaders (Ron Paul, Paul Wellstone, Ralph Nader) are completely ignored by the media, and are thought of as outliers with radical ideas.

Mainstream politicians spend MILLIONS of dollars travelling the country, buying television and public advertisements, deliberately putting down other candidates, making posters, banners, stickers, buttons, et cetera…..all for the purpose of selling themselves to the average American. Fucked up, it is?

It seems to me that politics has become more or less a game of who is noticed and talked about, who has more connections with the big names of popular media, a celebrity fame contest to put it blandly. I for one, did not even vote in the last election, as I cannot take this shit seriously anymore.

Another thing I cannot understand is how easily people give in to manipulation, how the masses can become swayed by a 30 second video saying “Obama’s economic stimulus plan has not worked, 80,000 jobs have been cut, he does not care about the hard-working American,” or “Mitt Romney’s foreign policy will result in war, he wants our troops to die,” or some other BS along the same lines. Even the simplest bumper sticker or yard sign can be enough to evoke a person’s emotions and have an effect on their opinion. I’ve seen it happen, I’m sure you have too. that is called being BRAINWASHED IN PLAIN FUCKING SIGHT.

One last thing….is there not any better way for a politician to display his agenda, plan, ideas, whatever, than the vague, sugar-coated bullshit they give us on the campaign trail? Or the ridiculous debates, where each candidate is given what, two minutes??, to explain a subject that obviously carries a vast amount of detail.

I’m no political genius, in fact I tend to ignore this kind of stuff most of the time, but really….I’m starting to get fucking pissed about this bull shit. ANYONE who has anything to add, please contribute….I would like to know that I’m not the only person who feels like they’re on the outside looking in….

@ALEC, it seems they have also realized that free speech on the Internet could f*ck up their agenda, so all of the new “anti-piracy laws” will keep getting regurgitated over and over until they can monitor/control the clear web for us as well as the TV networks

=P
