Quitting my job and exploring the world

I want to take some time to explore. Maybe a month, maybe a few months, maybe years, I don’t know yet.

I’m going to quit my job. It’s horribly boring. I’ve been here for am bout a year now, it’s my first “real job” out of college. I’ve saved up enough money to afford a plane ticket and some cheap living for a while. I’m going to leave my dog with family, she’s the only thing that ties me down here.

I have a rough idea of where I want to go. I want to see the pyramids. A one way flight to Cairo is $570. I’ll start there, then maybe head to Greece by boat or plane. Should be somewhat cheap. From there I’ll start living on as much of a budget as possible. Hostels and a backpack. Maybe find a job. From Greece, maybe Italy then Germany then Switzerland then Amsterdam? Those are the places I’m truly yearning to explore, but I’m open to anything that may come my way. Maybe find a job somewhere and work for a while? Visas and all that, I don’t know.

Enough about me. I want you all to give me some ideas, tips, inspiration to actually go through with this, anything. Everyone on this website is so creative and amazing.

Go for it! There’s so much to do and see in the world and it’s a real shame that the vast majority of people are tied down and almost enslaved by their jobs and ideals. There’s nothing better than travelling, exploring new cultures, meeting new people and learning new skills. Especially if your current life is unsatisfactory, a change of scenery is ideal for reinvigorating your receptors and do something new. The places you’ve listed are great, and all have a fantastic culture and things to do.
