Reform the World

Aurelia (@AureliaTitor)5 years, 1 month ago

How would you do it? What are your thoughts on an idea world and system, what ever it is, and however improbable it is. I think it would be nice to have a good, theoretical discussion on this, lets see if we can come to a point where everyone agrees that things would work more or less… on the internet. This should be a large thread, hah. Discussion, mind you, lets be civil.

I don’t currently have much time right now, but anyone with an opinion, please voice it!

To reform your surroundings, first you should reform yourself. In this world, if you go forward to bring a change, and if you are progressing in your mission. There is always a personality, who will bring you down. For utter selfishness ofcourse. So you should make yourself as such that you are able to

1. take the heat in intense situations,

2. analyze any situation(not get attached to it emotionally); analyze it and take a decision most suitable for that situation.

These are the prime qualities of a personality to even begin to think about any change he can offer to this world.

I also think that teaching is the most effective way to bring a change. If you teach childrens, you can develop their mind so that they think in a particular way. All that humanity has made(monuments, books, movies, anything and everything) was first made in their minds.

So if you can help the young generation into thinking in a good way, i think the society will benefit a lot. And this knowledge will be passed on.

That was one of the things I had in mind when making this thread. Of course, you can’t change human nature, but you can educate people on how to think clearly and objectively; a crucial skill not taught in school. The root of today’s problems are from people and faulty methods of thinking. This world is full of people who don’t question why or look past their own hands and what they are told, and I think this is a result of how we are taught. The education system needs to change in this aspect as well, while we can’t change how people are and think, we can at least nudge them in the right direction.

People are inherently illogical, and there are different types of people who play different roles in society, but if everyone in the world had at least some basic critical thinking skills, that really would make a huge difference. Question is, how would one go about doing that?

What else are you thinking?

Who we call the people who are at “the top”. They are highly educated. so there is no benefit in teaching them because many of those have greed inside them. They just want to make more and more money. the deprivation of even common amenities like food and water to the low class society, forces those people to work for the organization. If those people don’t have basic amenities, how the hell can they even think of getting an education. That’s a large population(in a country like INDIA). if these people don’t get education, they are easily fooled by these greedy monsters. And they dig their own grave without even knowing.

What we need is a pure volunteer based organization that teaches these people some basic critical thinking skills.

some solutions can be:

1. a minimum wage decided for the person working(easy to implement but very difficult to make it follow everywhere)

2. provide healthcare and food (again difficult to make it follow)

3. pick up childrens from this background and train them physically so that they can represent the country (in athletics).

This is a large population, if we can educate them about the career possibilities they can go, well something good can come out of it.

It seems that education is very important, critical thinking skills. It seems, the best way to help people realize things, is encouraging them to discover it themselves. Ask them questions that make them question themselves, their decision, their lives, people don’t like being told what to do, but they are receptive to finding their own answers. And maybe some people will be more difficult to get through to, who maybe don’t care for anything we have to offer, and in those cases, if there are people being hurt by them, we need to focus on helping those people however we can.

Each of us has a special power in us, something that makes us passionate, when we share that even with one person, that creates a huge impact, which ripples down as it’s passed along.

It’s amazing how just loving people and being honest can change the world.

If you want to join my discussion, click the link in my avatar description. I’m trying to invent a new system of government which is supposed to make everyone equal. No electoral college, no delegates/super delegates, a government by the people, for the people, and representatives shift every few months to prevent corruption. It is a consensus democracy with libertarian laws and gift economy. Your thoughts and ideas are valuable.

I’ll read through the whole thing and make an account set up in a bit for that thread, seems interesting, but I do have some thoughts on it.
