Rule YOU

They say that those who are fit to rule would never want to.

Our world is bound with rulers, rules, and laws. Some make sense, many do not. Some are wise, many are not.

Although no human is really fit to rule over others, for the very idea is foolish, there is one thing we all must rule. That is ourselves.

HighExistence is popular for inspirational quotes, go-out-and-get-it attitudes, and life-hacks of humanity. Many of us come on here to find ways to better ourselves and enjoy our lives more.

If you cannot rule yourself, you are doomed TO BE ruled. You are doomed to be submersed below the prosperity this Earth, this life, this experience has for you. As people who live free from predators, free from foraging and mandatory labor for sustenance, we have this gift to experience everything out there.

But you must RULE YOU. You must take the reigns of your mind, body, and soul. Feel its needs and wants, and pursue them. The destination will always be euphoric, but the countless journeys that come are the secret to this life. A trillion possibilities open up when you become you. When you are you. When truth rains from your intentions and desires.

Rule you. Be you. Feel you.

You are free as fuck!

Every time I read something Ayn Rand style I tend to agree. Then I think.

This is a fucking awesome thought. If everyone would master themselves, their fears, desires and all that other stuff, the world would be a better place.

Don’t get me wrong, that is goddamn hard to do.

But it still would be awesome.

People find great strength on principle; when someone tells you that you’re wrong but is an asshole about it, it becomes a matter of principle and you both get into a big ass circular argument of arm-wrestling egos, so I’d say mastering your fears and desires is like that.

For example; when you tell yourself that you are a slave to fear and desire, you long for freedom, you decide you are not going to be their bitch any more. That is one possible key to success in the struggle, I think many people have that strength of stubborn principle and it just may shape up against those stubborn habits.

Society is how we evolved and a required thing IMO (even though rules make no sense and superfluous to the human condition).

We always have the power to challenge the rules though, since rules only ever come from one man’s mind/experience.
