Scientists find drug to erase memory
Saw this and immediately thought,”I need to show this to my fellow Hethens”.. . This is some crazy shit besides DMT.
I haven’t researched into it. I know as much as you do right now.
@smokeup1, Why make a drug that can only be used for evil -__- They also have a drug that you blow in peoples faces and it makes them completely vulnerable to suggestions. A drug cartel is using it to make civilians commit crimes for them. Scary stuff.
@rattailbaby, I’ve heard about that powder, i think it’s call ‘Devils Breathe”… crazy shit.
I don’t man why is it evil?
It says they can erase traumatic experiences and bad habits.. what’s bad about that?
It can be used for evil but then again, anything can be used for evil don’t you think?
@bono95zg, Our memories are there to make us grow, we cant hide from them, we have to face them. I mean unless its like rape or something along those lines. But theres no tellin how that could go. It could make you not be able to remember or make you loose all motor skills who knows. Just sounds like a bad idea over all. Messing with the brain isnt really a good idea.
@smokeup1, Yeah true. But a pill that erases memories. Theres so many things that can go wrong with that. What if it erases the memory of the person you fell in love with, or made you forget all those experiences that made you who you are. Idk just seems like a bad idea to go messing with the brain in that manner.
why is it evil – : a gun is made to protect “right”
@rattailbaby, Many experiences do help you be more wise as you grow older but it can still help a lot of people with fears. I’m sure there’s consequences.. there has to be.
& we mess with our brains all the time…it seems to me like you are only looking at the bad side of things which isn’t bad but i think it can be beneficial in it’s own way.
Well, it doesn’t erase your memories…it reduces the intensity.
The idea is to give this drug to people with traumatic pasts so that they can go about their day to day lives more easily/comfortably without frightening flashbacks.
That being said, I don’t know where I stand on this. I don’t suffer from memories I don’t want.
@smokeup1, That’s what they say it would be used for, but anyone with a sense of critical thinking understands it’s a lie. It would end up being used to make people compliant.
To dissolve friendships, family, and other forms of loyalty that doesn’t benefit the manipulators.
Anyways, I doubt this news story has any truth to it. Whatever a newspaper says, you always know that they’re blowing it out of proportions something awful. And as always in the early stages of a scientific breakthrough, the theories are all sorts of weird.
@rattailbaby, That drug doesn’t exist, it’s an URBAN MYTH The drug is called scopolamine, it’s found in Datura, it makes you trip balls in a very traumatic way. I’ve used it, a lot of my friends have used it, and it doesn’t make people compliant. Actually, it’s damn near impossible to control someone who’s high on that shit because they’re panicking and lost in a dissociated delusion.
@rattailbaby, I agree completely! People are too quick to pop pills nowadays. I understand that there are cases in which pills change lives for the better, but most of the time I don’t feel like that’s the case.
Everyone taking their soma and victory gin?
Bah. I hate it.
Oh, look. Just like any other drug or sedative out there.
It’s hard to say if the drug would do more evil than good as i don’t really know all the details ‘ and these details about what exactly it does, how it does it and every detail inbetween. Only after a more or less basic understanding of the whole process , it can be debated from different stand points. With this in mind , into research i go…..
I have mixed feelings here. The drug most likely doesn’t work but if there was a drug that completely erased your memory I’d be very tempted to take it. Not because of fears or things I don’t want to remember. Imagine how fucking cool it would be to see the world from fresh. Everything would be new and brilliant. Even things we take for granted like a blank sheet of paper. When was the last time you got excited about a blank sheet of paper?
