Hi, so I just got into Lumosity and it would be great to do long term. The only thing is that its expensive, about 70 dollars a year for one person. But they offer a family plan thats 120 dollars a year for five accounts, that comes out to 24 dollars per person per year. I can afford that! So, if anyone’s interested in sharing an account, reply to this forum and we can get this ball a rollin ;D
Don’t mean to be a downer, but I think Lumosity is highly overrated and exceptionally advertised. I bought a subscription to their games a couple years ago and it was fun and challenged my mind, but I didn’t feel that it was really developing anything or worth the money. It makes me upset to see the ads now because I realize everything from the words they choose, tone of voice, colors, etc. has been carefully designed to allure good people with genuine interest to better themselves. Marketing is everywhere and Lumosity is just another domino in the dollar business.
I am also looking for anyone who would like to sign up for the Lumosity family plan – would love to join your group if you don’t have 5 yet, or if others are interested we could form our own 5. I have a 20% off coupon too so that will bring our individual price down as well! Please post here if interested. It’s end of Feb, 2015
I agree with Cody on this. It has not been proven that your brains actually improve beyond skill in those specific games. Sure, you will get good in memorizing cards and knowing how to find the bird in a photo, but this does not translate to functional intelectual skills.
If you want to improve your memory, attentionspan and focus, I am afraid you will have to do it the old fashioned hard way: Remembering names of new people, reading books, learning new skills or languages, doing righthanded tasks with the left hand, taking new routes to work, workout, meditations, traveling, etc.
The best part: It’s cheap. :-)
