Shit that YOU MADE

Jody Hatton (@xdude) 10 years, 4 months ago

Hello! My name is Jody and I’m sick of seeing people post stupid shit that other people made.

Not on here — on Facebook. The latest plague seems to be quote images. Not text quotes, images with nothing but words in them. UGH! Consume consume!

I’m not exactly sure why I’m so threatened by it all — I mean, as a creator, noticing that 99% of people don’t make their own stuff should give me comfort.

But anyway. Here’s some stupid, pointless, mediocre shit I made — BUT I MADE IT!

Please post something YOU made!

I created’d Ice. In between my hands. I like to Cook. I play the drums.
I fly my mystical dragon when I sleep.
((it’s purple and green with some orange and yellow))
I play streetball basketball and skateboard, i’ve created movies consisting of such.
I’ve created sprite animations and stick figures.
My friends and I have done the Aristocrats. While getting drunk and switching musical instruments on every shot.

This is the first promo video for my startup, Thought Market. I know the narration is pretty vague as far as functionality, but the music and visuals are good!

Jody Hatton (88) (@xdude) 9 years, 8 months ago ago

Fancy-schmancy! You make video, or pay big dowla?

Ben (1) (@highmarket) 9 years, 8 months ago ago

@xdude, It actually took me a second to realize what you were asking, haha. I wrote the story, script, etc and I’ve raised some money from investors that we used to pay a company to produce it.

Jody Hatton (88) (@xdude) 9 years, 8 months ago ago

Cool beans. :)

I recently made a video for a start-up to help them get investors. How did you get investors in the first place? For my client it seems like an uphill battle.

Ben (1) (@highmarket) 9 years, 8 months ago ago

@xdude, I was lucky enough to have some close family and friends who were in a financial position to get us the money we need. But I would suggest looking for angel investors, not vc’s. There are angels in every city and they are very active in helping early-stage startups get off the ground. Hope that helps!

Yall are all awesome [email protected]!!

Ehh.. My friends and I have made some dope rap mixtapes but im not uploading it.

This “natural playground” was not a solo endeavor, I was 1/8th of making it.

This deck was solo, but not complete in the pic.

winslow (85) (@winslow) 9 years, 8 months ago ago

However, I cannot MAKE these pictures viewable. any advice?

Here is the deck I spoke of, looks like you can just paste the stuff inside the IMG tags into the browser and see them.

You might have to use HTML etc.?

Unfortunately this forum seems to be deleting my sample code…

Forums usually have some kind of toolbar that does stuff for you. hmm

prescott (3) (@justinsawn) 9 years, 8 months ago ago

A poem i wrote recently,

I want to be engulfed,
wrapped up in you.
Feel you with every step,
In your company i want the sands of time to slow,
apart, the reverse.
I want to be close as i can, then closer.
I want to be engulfed.

That’s about as creative as i get ha.

Dan (890) (@danfontaine) 9 years, 8 months ago ago

@hogy, Good that you’re getting in touch with your heart, your poem seems a bit too think-thought.

Dan (890) (@danfontaine) 9 years, 8 months ago ago

@hogy, If you attempt it again soon try dropping all resistance to everything, get rid of all distractions especially the ones in your mind, fill your being with compassion and the sorrow that is the space between you and others – let yourself become heartbroken – close the gap with your work. This is how the heart gets exercise.

Soon to be updated, and will have prints of all my work (10$ each)
I’m going to be poor as fuck for the next 5 years so any support would be radically awesome.

My latest creation…. It’s only about 10 days old so the content is lacking…..

A poem.

With a knock-knock and a cold wind
The period panelling moved away.
Then the paternal audit.
The other was silent, but
A matriarch’s love needs no words.
A glance blabs volumes.

“How was your journey?”
Fine. Nothing but banal.
Should it have been a grand coup?
Through land and sea and underworld.
Dauntless romping for a certain end,
To offer a prize at his door.

We sat on the suede for single malt
With talk of lavish distractions.
The fire roared off unyielding fuel
And illuminated the crystal.
“Can I smoke?” I could not.
A wishbone sat in the ashtray.

Rich polish and swirling white
In black, exploited the senses.
Scales of romantic beauty,
Descending, marching to torture,
(“Do you play?” He did not.)
In spite of the unplayed grand.

Then my compensation, floating
Down the stairs and we stood
As if to praise a grand centrepiece.
Curtseys and bows and sacrifices
And all the time was frittered
And all the traditions fulfilled.

We walked coldly on the wind.
She no longer belonged to me, but
To empty ashtrays and silent pianos.
When looking straight at her
And her down at me, I knew,
I would return with another, nameless.
