I’ve read stories about people that have dropped acid or eaten mushrooms. I’ve never done anything but smoke weed or spice. I was just wondering if anyone has done them, if i should or shouldn’t try them.
It’s worth a try at least once, pretty low risk with high potential for a good time and perhaps a profound, life-changing experience. Like @tobiefaye says, it’s more or less my favorite thing in the world. Go for it if you get the opportunity!
Also, be sure to do your research on sites like Erowid and the Shroomery to be 100% sure you know what you’re getting in to!
Where were you raised?
If you were raised in the out doors like me, do them in the outdoors. Like me!
But if you want the absolute fullest experience. Take them under your covers with an MP3 player of your favorite songs, a pencil, and a note book.
@tobiefaye, True, it’s not 100% necessary to do research, I just always research a chemical extensively before I put it in my body. Just a personal preference. It relieves me of a lot of anxiety about the drug when I’m trying something new. Having tripped a countless number of times on various substances and doses in a variety of circumstances, I can definitely affirm that each trip is very different, for better or for worse haha.
I’d say the most important thing, is the level and the scope at which you view the world and yourself while on the drug. If your tripping on mushrooms and you want to start thinking philosophically, if you become very self aware, depending on your deepest personal beliefs, this may spring up on you as a bad trip. For example if deep down inside you believe that when you die you float to a black void and human consciousness was just a random moment in space, then you may have a bad trip if you try to become philosophical while high on mushrooms. But obviously if you have different beliefs it may come up differently.
What I’m saying is you can be ready to experience the drug and view it from behind a viewing glass, or be consciously aware of yourself which is what causes bad trips, for me at least. Know yourself, is this something you would do? Would you want to go for a fun adventure on mushrooms and just “see” and “experience” everything around you, or would you want to travel inside your mind as well and find out what’s going on in there? More of a risk, but a greater reward.
The way I looked at it was.. We are all born on this world equally so we all have the equal right to figure out the meanings of things themselves. So be your own crazy scientist and test out all the things you want, of course read up on everything before and understand the basics. If Mario never ate a mushroom chances are he would of never had the strength and courage to find peach! I love mushrooms people say they are childish, but I think they drop your ego and leave you only to use love, one time I even had a kundalini uprising on mushrooms.. (15 minute body orgasm) that’s a different story but it really was a break through.
I would assume, since you are on the site, that you saw the LSD experience article in the preview reel. If you read that and find everything within to be intriguing and acceptable, in addition to do-able, then by all means. Trust those who have commented saying that you need to do research and have an understanding of self before diving in, but aside from those things let it speak for itself through a sampling
If you are a strong person even a VERY unpleasant trip can be viewed as a positive experience if you learn from it. As long as you do not have a genetic predisposition to schizophrenia or other major red flags like you’re in an abusive relationship or something you should go for it when the time is right. Psychedelics are a gift from God.
But i’ve been having a hard time around the house, I’m just worried i”ll trip so bad that i will lose my mind and never be the same. Because I’ve tripped while smoking the legal (legal at the time at least) “potpourri’s and i got freaked out at first. I also had a friend who tried acid and said that it was the worst experience he’s had while do a drug of any kind. what is it like? is it so intense that its scary? or is it kinda soothing?
@xdiodude7x, It CAN be scary…it isn’t like taking a tranquilizer that just shuts off chemical messengers for anxiiety, for example…..The experience has EVERYTHING to do with what is already going on in your mind and emotions….and where you trip and who you trip with…it’s life and its you magnified or expanded and exaggerated / enhanced / digitized…whatever…yeah it can be very intense…extreme in magnificence if thats what it is or extreme in anxiety and even terror if thats what comes up or presents itself….you sound a little anxious and maybe not in the best circumstances right now…you decide for yourself but something tells me to say “hang back” for now
