Soul Age

I was listening to Jason Mraz a while back (he’s not my favorite but I do rather like his music), and his song “I Won’t Give Up” started. When I’m at the computer and listening to music, it’s usually just background noise to keep me relaxed, but the lyrics “How old is your soul?” stuck out to me and to Bing I went.

Anyway, I found this concept of Soul Age, which doesn’t necessarily refer to reincarnation or how many lives you lived in the past, but to how the soul has grown from its experience on Earth. With Soul Age, there are five main stages–or soul ages–but also stages within and even beyond them. There is also a motto for each stage:

Infant: “Lets not do it.”

Baby: “Do it right or don’t do it at all.”

Young: “Do it my way.”

Mature: “Do it anyplace but here.”

Old: “You do what you want and I’ll do what I want.”

(As a side note, those quotes sound a little negative to me, but I could just be over sensitive.)

The idea is that every person on this planet is in one of the stages in one of those stages in this life. This doesn’t necessarily decide their personality, but it shapes the way they look at the world and how restless or not they are on Earth or to leave Earth.

So now I’m interested in knowing if anyone here on HE is familiar with the concept, and I’d like to know everyone’s thoughts.

I found this idea a while before joining HE and I’ve been eager to share, but it generally takes me a while to feel comfortable with a community of any sort before contributing. So here’s me starting my first discussion.

Oh wow! :D

Funny ’cause I was waiting for what felt like the right moment to post this, too.

Thanks for the videos! So gonna start watching them right now. :)

I have to say, after watching those videos, my understanding of Soul Age has strengthened and I believe in it a little more now. And, I think I identify myself as an Old Soul, perhaps on the third level. I mostly think this because at only seventeen, I already feel tired of life and nothing seems to surprise me. I don’t feel the need to voice my opinion to most because I know they won’t listen (though HE is the exception I’m thankful for). I’m constantly telling myself to not judge anyone…

I’ve honestly never felt more understood than I did listening to those videos!

Though, I do think the maker sounds a little bias toward younger souls. Maybe it was just me, but everything said about them was either negative or was followed by a “but” clause.

what he said about younger souls was correct from my observations but seems to be more targeted at human’s because of how our society has been ran for the past 2000 years.

i could be biased too considering my observations don’t cover 100% of the global population for an accurate statement.

Well I don’t think he was wrong, I just think he was very negative about younger souls and very positive about older ones. At the end, he did say that no one is better than any other, but while he was describing them he seemed to think otherwise. Might just be me, though…

I mean, older souls tend to be rather arrogant and big headed, and I really expected that to come up. They tend to be lazier, too.
