I’ve been having strange dreams/experiences lately (well, stranger than normal–also some weird experiences in meditation). A very vivid lucid dream the other day, I woke up in a bed in an attic of a big old house fully aware that I was dreaming. There was a journal and a something to write with close by. I looked out the window and there was a smaller building (one room sized) below me and to the left. Up in flames, burning down. I immediately transitioned to, idk, the sky somewhere and flew around since I thought oh cool, I can do whatever I want, it’s been a while since I’ve been able to do this!
But I came back to that same scene eventually, and not really of my own choice, I just appeared back there I guess. This time walking around outside both buildings observing the small one burn down, and just, pacing. A black cat was also in it somewhere.
A question for you lucid dreamers:
Do you find you can control your environment most of the time, or do you meander around places that you didn’t really ‘consciously’ think up, but you’re also aware you’re dreaming? I left this scene, to go ‘have fun’ in dream world essentially, but returned kind of suddenly. Transitions are hard to describe, it’s just you’re one place, then you’re another place.
Any relative experiences anyone?
Then this morning, I felt my body being moved on my bed, not by me, and there was a dog laying above my shoulders. She was whining and moving her head kind of but her presence was comforting? I wasn’t scared or anything, I didn’t really think about it or really have any opinion at all until after it happened and it’s one of those weird things where I honestly can’t tell the difference–was I dreaming or was I awake? I awoke in the spot I had been “moved” to. No dog though.
Then I got up and thought, well, that was really fucking weird.
Also, I’ve found that if I squint in a particular way when in deep meditation and look at some sort of ‘blank’ like a white wall, or door, or piece of wood, etc. I will see kind of like..a slideshow of pictures. Depicting what can only be described as drawings of a mythological nature. Think illustrations of The Illiad, The Odyssey, Hercules, Greek mythology, etc.
A penny for your thoughts.
