@maddykane,

How bout you start us all off? haha I’d like to hear your random thoughts as well

@egarim, good point. okay so today i was looking out the window and i looked at a book store. and i was thinking that everything we know , or learn, has been discovered and learned already ( at least in my learning’s right now ) and i know that like coming upon my own profound thoughts is different, but i still feel like thoughts, have been thought before i guess? i dont know that’s kind of confusing haha.

okay here is a light one.
“we all poop” this is a thought i stumbled upon when i was thinking about how serious of a job being the president is , and how government workers and fbi and blah blah take themselves so serioulsy, and then i thought about how funny it is how serious we all take life and ourselves when we all sit down and poop.

hahha, i dont know if that makes sense.

but like one time there was this thug liek character ordering ice cream , and he said the words blue moon cookie dough, and i dont know i was just like yeah youre a bad ass but you have to say the silly ice cream names too.

or like getting your license.

i dont know things in life that seem silly that we all do , and reflecting on how serious everything is taken.
BAM.
hope that started you off !

@maddykane,

That was actually really good… haha. There’s some deeper thoughts lying in your lighthearted musings that I’m gonna touch upon.

Your first one about how thoughts have been thought before is actually something I had worked to put into words. Basically, I had an idea that the only true form of immortality is through a specific thought, idea, or way of thinking… which is preserved through words. Here’s the quote: “A single idea, when immortalized by words or otherwise, can allow a dead man to breathe life again through the soul of another whom has come to understand it.” It’s that aha moment when you read a line and it hits you harder than normal and your perspective changes, that moment of clarity I feel would be paramount to thinking exactly like the person that wrote or spoke the line. It’s like you and that person became one for just a moment.

We all poop. Haha this is true indeed and you are right about how silly it is that we all try to be so serious sometimes. The way I see it, our seriousness is a result of our culture and otherwise: we try to be more “civilized” but we are still animals in the end. And like most animals, we have to clear our bowels. This thought is a great way to remind ourselves that no matter what curtains we hide behind or what lies we tell ourselves, the truth will always be humbling. Or we can turn pooping into a serious matter.

I feel as though there is something deep behind the thug one but I’ll have to get back to it. On the surface it’s similar to the idea of how we all need to poop. Can’t be badass and serious forever.

That boosted my mood haha that’s for sure. I usually have a lot of these random little thoughts (I’m sure most people do) but I don’t really take it upon myself to remember them.
I will get back to you later though, I got class soon.

@maddykane, we do intensify thoughts that are rather innocent & fleeting. Many times I just smile and let it pass. :D
So! To go on, at the start of my day our yoga instructor read to us the ‘sutra of the day’ which encapsulated the premise of ‘being’ above living in duality. Living between the worlds of ‘black and white’ she spoke. She used the example of a knife, a knife=a cut. The knife can either cut a piece of fruit which is considered ‘good’ or it can cut a person’s throat which is considered ‘bad’; either way the knife serves one purpose of cutting in that moment. It is the shift between our minds which label moments as a good utensil to prepare fruit, or an object that just killed someone. One thing remains the same, and that is the action of the knife. It just is, and always will be serving the purpose of cutting-in theory.
Then, it reminded me of my own battle within moments: between stalling (which imposes duality in my opinion) or becoming aware of the highest reality which is so graciously nothing at all, waiting to suck in the air of inherent opportunity.

After that, I went on to stretch my rusty hips and the thoughts danced away…as they will.
:) & here I am again.

Have a lovely day!

“It’s not that others want us to fail, it’s that they first want to see themselves succeed.”

Ironically enough, OP, I thought about this while pooping. (Sorry for the grotesque imagery that may have elicited.) You talked about pooping though, so I thought it to be a very relevant detail, you know?

About your insight that all thoughts have essentially been thunk already, I’d disagree. Although I can’t prove myself to be right (I have not intention to do so, anyways), I’d argue that although we’ve rehashed much of the same discourse over the course of our species’ livelihood, we’ve yet to explore each and every combination of these ideas. You know? There is something to be said for synergy, or the coming together of things to produce something fresh.

“we all poop” LOL i love this. society hides so many things that make us all human (and therefore, connected) it’s a great thought to put it all back into perspective. And the thought of barack cursing with a plunger just brings a sick smile to my face >_<

Suddenly the thought came into my head that our existence on earth is the result of one giant chain-reaction of well-placed orgasms. And that people who find that "gross", wouldn't even be able to think it's "gross" without it.

@maddykane, Fun post. :]

Do you ever observe other people when driving a car? You get the most hilarious expressions ever, specially in heavy traffic.

@egarim
Yes, there was some deeper thoughts in all of those mini ones hah obviously its like a bigger picture sort of thing. & I like that “the only true form of immortality is through a specific thought, idea , or way of thinking. That’s very interesting. I guess I don’t think every thought has been thought, and like @optimystic said, every thought is connected in different ways and in different combinations. I never really thought of it that way. Just maybe the same kind of thought, or like an idea? I am sure there are many really random things like hm, “ giant nuns sitting on silver peaches waiting for the whiskey to arrive.” I bet you got a new image in your head you have probably never had before ( I am not sure where the hell that came from , LOL. )
The we all poop, and thug /ice cream part, yes they were kind of meanings behind that , more of food for thought I suppose. I am glad @selina @scott3600 @dominickjohn @motorik you all enjoyed my post  thanks for sharing your random thoughts of the day. Hahah, I like the orgasm comment, very true. The knife analogy I have definitely thought about before, not in the exact way but along the lines. Kadjslkj so many thoughts you guys.
I apologize for my atrocious grammar and spelling errors. This was really cool & the first discussion ive ever started. Thanks 
Happy Wednesday !

pooping lol,….. funny picture/thought i see in my head, a boxing ring, its a match that looks to be from the early 90’s, in the far corner there is Nikola Tesla, getting geared up as there seems to be only a few seconds until the first bell rings, and there Mike Tyson is in the other corner sitting cross legged, hunched over test tubes and experiments and such with the focus you could imagine him giving to the pigeons he used to collect as a young boy.

@maddykane, Just wanted to point out that everything that has been discovered, at one point wasn’t discovered. If Einstein thought that way, he would’ve been content knowing that space and time were constant, yes they were his own profound thoughts, but that’s how we discover new stuff everyday.

– someone said a quote recently that stuck with me. It was about how when you leave someplace or change in someway, it isn’t so much the time you missed but who you were at that time. When you think an old thought maybe by someone long ago, some thought that has been immortalized it must be the same as becoming somebody’s old self. Do you get what Im saying?

I was thinking about how everything we see is like a mirage of ourselves. This giant psychedelic mirage that can sometimes be understood.

The other day I was looking at this mom with her kid on one of those stupid leashes that keep kids from running around and this kid was walking around all obedient and shit. And I imagined this lil guy growing up with an imaginary leash all of his life. That’s kind of a sad one.

Today, I realized that my assumption that everyone is working on their personal issues like I do everyday isn’t really true. A lot of people really just “accept” them, or cover them up without knowing any better.

My one friend says he likes to date stupid girls, and girls that are smaller than him because he is really insecure. He covers it up as “conceited” and says that he has just learned to “accept it”. lol

@deej,

“When you think an old thought maybe by someone long ago, some thought that has been immortalized it must be the same as becoming somebody’s old self.”

Exactly, that is precisely what I was meaning to say haha. When I said that a person is seemingly “immortalized” by their words or rather idea, I mean precisely that coming to truly understand that thought or their words is like two people becoming one, or rather a dead man coming back to life and living through you (or vice versa whatever). It’s a very poetic and deep thought but I feel like we both can’t properly describe it entirely.

“I was thinking about how everything we see is like a mirage of ourselves. This giant psychedelic mirage that can sometimes be understood.”

Ha, miragE. Egarim. Very fitting!

“And I imagined this lil guy growing up with an imaginary leash all of his life. That’s kind of a sad one.”

Ooo, ouch. That one is bleak haha… but some people do live their lives with imaginary leashes around their necks. Some day they will free themselves.

@egarim, I never realized that about your name haha. I’m glad we can understand this point I was trying to make but I had a feeling you did already.
At least the kid with the leash will have an easy time identifying the problem lol

@maddykane, You have the profile pic of a babe and the mind of a stoner. You married?

The “everyone poops” one makes me laugh to myself all the time. Although recently I’ve had it whenever I’ve been looking at someone attractive. I still think “Yeah but they poop”. Any amateur psychologists want to have a crack at that one haha?

I live on the East Coast of Australia and I found it rather amusing that when I look left on a beach I am pretty much looking North. Yeah, I dunno haha

yeh the poop is always a good reminder! i laugh when i think if the queen to a really bad stinky schlopa!
@motorik HAHA fuckin oath! i take the freeway to work everyday, the best faces! i had a cookie comming home from work one day, sittin in Melbourne traffic, in tears of laughter looking at this one guy, looking mundane as all good citizen, could not control myself!

Now to the post at hand, and poop on subject, me and a mate of mine talking the other day about places we gather our own thoughts and ideas, and clearing our bowels came up close to sitting at the beach or going for a walk etc, AND
it just popped into my head, we gather great thoughts and ideas doing the things we should be doing, or the things that come natural to us :)
great discussion :) love it

So many people on ths planet spend years and years unhappy in shitty relationships. Lack of intrest, abuse, cheating, they’re all equally shit. There are far too many people in the world to discover to settle down with anyone who’s not “enhancing” your life.

I’m now happily single. Its pretty sick. I know when I find someone they’re gonna be right on, because I know I won’t settle for anything under par ever again- I value myself enough not to. Life’s good.

Something interesting that made its way into my head yesterday (still counts i hope!):

We were discussing in my anthropology seminar the different ideas about how North America was peopled and my professor said something to the effect of, “Well according to Native American lore, they have been here [North America, homeland, etc.] since time immortal” and that got me thinking on the idea of immortality, how it is completely a cultural construct. I find your idea fascinating, @egarim, for I when thinking I have found myself thinking thoughts that are somehow familiar. I sometimes find myself feeling emotions that are oddly familiar, or seeing strangers that I feel I’ve seen before. I haven’t done much exploration into the idea of reincarnation or things like that, but I have found myself entertaining the thought of time as cyclical more and more often. Then I realize that time is a cultural construct as well – many Native American groups (ex. the Hopi) experience time completely differently. Therefore, perhaps our thoughts and experiences are indeed immortal, perhaps even our souls, though our bodies may decay and die.

Thoughts, thoughts, thoughts.

This is great,
So i was out fishing today and as i was looking down into the depths of the water searching for a trout, I started wondering what it must be like to be a fish, living underwater your hole life. Swimming around only catching glimpses of the surface. Which made me think thats what we experience as humans only seeing an small glimpse of the universe. Only able to Inhabit our small but beautiful earth in this confined realm of existences. Which made me think about the future and the possibilities of building cites underwater, On different planets, hell even in different dimensions or just what its like to be a fish haha
