Surrender or Rebellion?

Recently i have ran across these two quotes during the spiritual journey, and the contradiction is killing me. They are both from very powerful sources, and they have kind of sent me into a mental state of mindfuck. I agree with both, yet that would mean that i would disagree with both… This one will definitely require some meditation.
What do you think?

1)”Your salvation lies in complete surrender and tranquility, your strength lies in complete trust.”

2)” Awareness; no matter how confused it may be, develops from every act of rebellion.”

@jpncoke, You are reading too much into each insight. Appreciate each by utilizing their lesson(s). No one said you had to pick and choose one to believe in. That’s you burdening yourself unnecessarily.

@jpncoke,

Just because they dont use similar words I would not say they actually contradict each other from a philosophical standpoint. I think you can take both quotes and find them more similar all depending how you look at it

1) I like the quote but what you surrender too is another thing entirely. Perhaps you have always had the urge to rebel however you have forced yourself not too. Surrendering could be giving yourself up to the urges to do something you have always wanted and not worry about the consequences. Your trust in surrendering to who you as a person truly are could be the strength(this is just a meaning I could take out of this)

2) Love this quote, and totally agree you cant truly know about something if its limits are never tested or your not willing to experience it first hand.

Tranquility is rebellion from the need to fight.

@jpncoke, 1)”Your salvation lies in complete surrender and tranquility, your strength lies in complete trust.” Trust that this is true – go with your gut feeling.
2)” Awareness; no matter how confused it may be, develops from every act of rebellion.” Rebellion, here, suggests rejection of the bullshit of the illusionary world that you know, inside, is bullshit. Peace, Love & Light ~ ricky
