This happened the other night so I wrote about it. I would love to hear some feedback or poems others have written.
January 10th, 1:15 AM.
I pause before entering my house,
Listen and turn slowly.
Looking around, as if the sun was shining down on a vibrant parade in the streets.
It was an erie silence.
Matched with a cold, brisk air.
Not a hint of wind, as if time had ceased to exist.
The bare trees, the still grass, bushes so tense such as they stopped mid-stride.
Seeming as though nature knew I was looking.
Staring back at me, waiting for me to enter my suburban asylum.
They knew I was looking…
I love moments like that. Reminded me of this poem I wrote in 2010…
I see you in there. [4/28/10]
on a cold chain-link fence
peers at me through
I look at him, he looks at me.
We do not move.
He sits and gazes,
but I don’t know what he means.
I close the blinds,
wondering if he knows
we were forged in the belly
of the Earth,
made with the breath of stardust.
I definitely agree. You had a taste of real life without your mind in the way. Life is mostly imaginary due to our beliefs, expectations, opinions, worries, & etc. You definitely need to read this book. TruthContest.Com
I think these are the best moments. Becoming fully aware and becoming one with nature. Great poem, makes me want to start writing them again. You have a really good use of imagery, I particularly liked “suburban asylum” and how you put the exact time as the title, very meaningful. Thanks for the read!
Nice…And Eccentricities’ add was just as notable. Love to See these connects come through & then poetically expressed so perfectly.
Nature is always watching.
With many eyes
Of many colors
Of many styles.
“See me, as We!” She pleads.
Blessings, Kiddo…Write on, indeed! :D
