The Serenity Prayer sounds so much more beautiful in Spanish, as do most things in my opinion ;) what a lovely tattoo

I have always been interested in tattoos but have only recently taken the plunge so to speak. I have ‘A perfect day’ written on the top of my right inside bicep. I’m thinking of acquiring two more, one on my left inside bicep that will say ‘And I draw a line, to your heart today, to your heart from mine’ and then on the inside of my right upper thigh a sexy pinup girl I’m designing. The two written ones have personal meanings and the graphical image is just something that I really love.

Resurrecting this thread since I know there have to be more HEthens with tattoos now :) Here’s mine. Apologies for the bad lighting.

Lady Justice with an Antoine de Saint-Exupery quote, “But the eyes are blind, you must see with your heart.” It holds a lot of meaning for me but overall I like having it there as a reminder when I forget what I feel is really important in life.

I’m hoping to get a couple (smaller) ones soon as well

I have ‘deja entendu’ (album name) on the outside of my left foot, I’m an incurable Brand New fanatic, the album holds a fair amount of meaning to me.

Mongolian calligraphy means blue sky. Got it because I miss home. There’s nothing like the blue sky of the Mongolian steppes.

No to most tattoos. It is a generational thing. I have, however, recently considered getting a flower wreath around my ring finger or toe or some other design. My body would look ugly with any kind of tatoo.

Once you start with the tattoos you can’t stop :) @OneLoveUSC~ I can’t see your image (this is my work computer’s fault not yours), but it sounds lovely :) @Moni~ that’s beautiful! Is that your forearm or your calf? It’s hard to tell when all you can see is the slab of skin :)
I think I’ve got 5 now.. and there will fersher be more to come. I’ll just share a couple, cuz I don’t share just intimate things with anyone ;) I’ve got the golden rule wrapped around my arm (I’ll post that one since I have it-not a great pic tho). In first grade my teacher had a giant golden scroll in the front of the class with the golden rule on it… and it always stuck with me. It’s the only rule I like :) I also have Quetzalcoatl (a dragon) wrapped around my thigh. That’s cuz I’m a die hard fan of the Toltec philosophies…that one is pretty special to me.

I’ve got 3. the first two don’t really have a meaning to them but that doesn’t bother me. i think the body is like a blank canvas (cliche I know) but i feel that if i like something enough to have it on my body for forever than why the hell not just go for it?

I got a dove holding an olive branch on my right foot when i was 16, and i have a lotus flower on the inside of my left ankle/calf that i got shortly after turning 18.

This is my most recent tattoo, which i love the most out of all. I just got it about 4 months ago, and i actually had my best friend do it on her bathroom floor with just a needle and ink. i know its backwards in the picture but it reads “How strange it is to be anything at all,” lyrics from a neutral milk hotel song. despite the shitty quality of the tattoo and the fact that in 5-10 years it will probably just be black smudges after it all smears together and wears away, i love the tattoo anyway and it means a lot to me.

@Moni, that is beautiful…I love mongolian script, would really love to visit that country one day, as well as learn the language

@Moni I reeeeaaally like the look of that calligraphy. The small shaded portions are extremely well done. Looks as though it was done with a brush. That’s on your arm right?

@Kayla
mad respect for letting your friend tattoo you with just a needle and some ink! I think that obviously adds a a lot to its meaning. And I definitely must agree, it is strange to be anything at all :)

Thanks everyone! @Em, that’s my forearm. I actually was thinking about mentioning it’s location but I guess it just slipped my mind.

I think the human body is far more beautiful than any ink.
