The future looks “promising” because population growth is EXPLODING.

What excites me is that ONLY A “HANDFUL” OF INDIVIDUALS contributed to the advances in the sciences, religion, education, and the arts.

Consider the equation

Number of individuals that have made SIGNIFICANT contributions to human kind
total population to ever live.

These “special” individuals are…

The EXCITING part is that this number is growing, because of better education and more equal opportunities.

At this time in human history number is almost 0% but with time (A LOT OF TIME) maybe we can reach 1% and beyond. Just image what the world would look like!

@luzimzo, The future looks promising because…

I intend to write a chapter of it.

@luzimzo, Pretty much everyone who makes significant contributions simply have studied up on people before them and continued in their direction, then as new inovations come it create avenues to expand upon the direction of thinking of people who lived before those inovations.

“because of better education and more equal opportunities.” There’s a difference between hope and reality, you know.

I’ve thought about this and I think a big obstacle is the search problem. With so many people and voices and contributions, how do you find the “significant” ones. It seems to me that there may be many potential contributors who simply can’t get their message out for all the noise.

Great Point!!!

I think that the Internet and Social Media (e.g. Facebook) have made getting your message out there 10000 times easier than it was 50 years ago. The “trick” to using social media to its fullests extent is to have POWERFUL and meaningful message. I personally believe that if there is a “significant” individual and that HAS a valuable message they easily shared it with the world.
