When I sit and meditate with my eyes open for a good ten minutes or more, I begin to see patterns emerging, almost like I took a small dose of psilocybin. There seems to be this “hidden reality”, hence the title, to life. Is this the dualistic nature people talk about? Perhaps this is the realm of consciousness that partakes in reality on the fundamental level?
Any thoughts on this? Any similar experiences?
I sometimes get this feeling of being in a HUGE space and floating in it, not really/only when I meditate, and not for very long, but usually when I’m just relaxed and focused on nothing at all. It’s weird, like I’ve discovered another chamber in my own head. I can stay there but the trick is to not even think about staying there, to just not think at all. When I meditate I’m concentrating on the sensations on my body, the Vipassana style of meditation, so I’m still focused on something. Pretty crazy though, being in that place where I’m a tiny tiny little speck in a huge huge space.
@blankey, This existence of a hidden reality is absolutely true. I see/feel it on an almost daily basis during meditation and especially when I come out of it. Most of the time I see one large circle on the inside of my eyelids, and from time to time I will see a triangle. There is a percolating consciousness that we always deny but most definitely exists.
