I’m thinking just share something that you feel, or that you have found really improves your life or others, family, work, your body, meditation, information, wisdom, and everything I can’t think of… it’s completely open, be long or short if you like, but i’d prefer not to be left wondering, meaning if it’s a big concept some links and/or explaination would be great.. share something pleeeeeeeeease..

Shoot for 2 a day for starters… That’s what i’m starting with, I’m getting back on my grind! I promise you will feel better.. your mood improves.. add a little exercise, hormones regulate, ect, ect..

this is an excellent idea :) Two of best things in the world for me sound like they shouldnt work together at all but I swear after doing this you will feel much more *in tune*
first of all get into an open (and preferably not negative) debate about a topic you feel unsure of with a friend who understands that a debate is not the same as an arguement. not only will you feel like you made a great connection with another person it also allows you to get your ideas in order. There is no better means to solidify your ideals (in my opinion) than a friendly debate :)
The second thing is just to be stupid every once in a while, go get some buddies together and go wild! try not to do anything too illegal and or break any property and you should be fine. A good example is to go out at like 2:00 am on a day when no one works in the morning (I like saturday for this) and play tag. This helps to get the blood flowing and you also get a good bonding experience with some friends :) If you cant think of a place to do something like this then take a couple of friends and go find one :P
these too things are where I find myself comeing up with my best ideas! I use the *stupid* phase to get an idea and the *discusion* phase to solidify it, hope this is what you are looking for with this thread :)

One of the best activity that has bettered my life is the Morning Cup of Coffee (no, I’m not a Folgers salesman). In my experience, people who are depressed feel the worst right after they wake up; this is the time when one’s programmed long-term internal dialogue is strongest… thus any positive emotional development from the previous day reverts back to the more developed negative self (which can be extremely frustrating). Overcoming this reversion, and jumpstarting the brain towards a new day, a new self, is easier when you have something to look forward to every new morning. It’s not about the coffee or caffeine, drink tea if you like, it’s about savoring a moment just for yourself; escaping from the mind for a sec and discover the moment… that is the Cup of Coffee experience.
PS.Catching a sunrise simultaneously will never fail to start the day right.

going on a run, talking w friends, reading a book curled up on a comfy/scenic spot, doing something spontaneous even if it sounds silly at the time (ex. making pancakes at 4am w some friends : p)
What I have done to try to improve my life that has been successful, no order:
-Make sure you spend some quality time with friends or family every day
-Cold Showers (first couple of times they knock the breath out of you, then you mentally overcome that, then they feel great, makes you mentally tougher/understand the power of the mind)
-2 cardio/2 muscle workouts that are comfortable each week
-1 run/ 1 muscle workout that is very difficult and really have to push yourself each week
-maintain proper hygiene & care how you look to a healthy extent
-when something crazy comes up, do it, unless it is clearly a bad idea
-have a journal in which you keep everything you want to get off of your mind and on to paper. In this you can put:
-lists(good songs, invention ideas, business ideas, life goals, what is important to you, what you like about those you love)
-any cool facts, concepts, theories that you want to remember/come back to
-record your dreams
-Lucid dream (have an adventure or cool discussion every night!)
-do something that uses creativity and critical thinking (write, program, debate, paint, photograph, anything else that uses those skills which are fun and useful)
@ travis/dustin: i’ve never liked the phrasing, do something stupid. Stupid implies lack of thought. the phrasing, do something crazy i prefer. when it becomes a clearly bad idea (as peter put it) that is when it becomes stupid. but otherwise i agree with the sentimet, DO SOMETHING CRAZY. as i always tell people, i may be crazy but i ain’t stupid. “if we weren’t all crazy we would go insain” -Jimmy Buffett
I like peters cold showers and time with friends and family. while a cold shower is good and easy to access, if you can try going for a COLD SWIM, about 30 min. it gets you clean, wakes you up better than any pot of coffee i’ve ever had, and gets you a work out. three birds with one stone. plus if you do it right you can be in the water when the sun rises, that is my favorite.
when ordering a meal at a resturant ask your server what thier favorite dish is to eat, not what they “recomend” but what their all time favorite is. Then ORDER YOUR SERVER’S FAVORITE MEAL. the conversation you have with the waiter will make them like you more, you always end up getting something that the resturant makes really good, and trying something new always has a fun appeal.
LAUGH, i love alex’s segestion to laugh, “should i laugh at any mortal thing, tis so i do not cry.”
LEARN something new, all the time, when you stop learning you start dieing.
COOK from scratch. you will appriciate your food more, and learn to make things taste better for you. At first it’s hard but once your get the hang of it it becomes easier on the wallet as well.
PLAY at all levels. with adults, senior citizens, and even children (children can be the best to play with). we don’t stop playing becasue we grow old, we grow old because we stop playing.
Sing. Badly. And as loud as possible. There is a song for every situation, and it pretty much guarantees some laughs.
Also, yogurt every morning. I used to be a coffee addict, but I found that yogurt wakes me up better and I don’t crash a few hours later.
@Ben What I mean by stupid is exactly as you have said it, go do something bad. But why Travis, arent bad things bad? well of course they are but if all you dont do bad things every once in a while can you truly appreciate all the good things?
What I DON’T mean by this is something wrong, there is a big difference between wrong and stupid. Getting into a fistfight with a friend if you both agree to it is stupid and fun and if you both agree on some sort of rule than you should be okay. Where as walking down the street punching random individuals in the face is stupid AND wrong
I really cant think or a better example right now but when I do I will add it in :P
A few weeks ago my best friend and I went on a nature hike and came across a giant field of tall grass. We spread a blanket out in the middle of the most likely tick- infested grass and just hung out, talked, got a little sun. When you were on the blanket, it was like nothing existed but the sky and the field.
One time we navigated New York City using only the maps in the subway and directions from locals. We met so many cool people, nearly ended up in a pretty sketchy part of town, but ultimately made it safely to our destination. It was truly an adventure.
Those were two “bad” ideas that led to great things :)
