The most important realization/epiphany you have had so far?

beezus (@beezus) 8 years, 12 months ago

I just thought it might be interesting to know, throughout all your travels, studies, meditations, trips, experiences, dreams, etc, on your quest for truth what is the one thing you have learned so far about yourself, the universe, life or existence in general that has had the biggest impact on you or opened the most doors to your mind? What is that one “ah-ha” moment that you have carried with you ever since, and when did it happen, or are you still piecing yours together? Can’t wait to hear!

To care about others you got to care about yourself. Do the opposite of the voice in your head.

@beezus, The most important thing I have learnt is that attitude is everything. You attitude determines everything in life.

that everything is connected. It is soo important to me.
Realizing this means realizing being selfish hurts everything including yourself.
And the opposite: Realizing this means that being selfless helps everything including yourself.
Realizing this makes you care.
This keeps you humble, curious, energetic, and optimistic.
This keeps your mind open while also instilling confidence.
This teaches you love and respect for your Earth and your Sun.

Mine would be that you can either look at something positive or negative, I have a quick temper and now I “try” to control that by slowly thinking each situation through

Being dead is ok. It’s dying that sucks.

– I often make assumptions and treat them as reality without realizing; Seek truth, be aware of what I don’t actually know.
– The reality of perception.
– The ripple effect of positive/ negative thinking/ actions
– Recognizing the good in the seemingly bad and vice versa

Life is what you make it, it’s just a ride
I am not a victim to external forces, I am here because I chose to be here
Only we can free our minds
We are all one
The body is just a contemporary filter
The present moment is all there is, and life is to be lived – not just planned
If you can imagine it, you can do it
Love comes to you when you stop searching externally and start accepting internally
“Give what you want to receive as though you already have it”
Money, ownership, anxiety and loneliness are illusions
Another illusion is that we’re born unfinished and unworthy of life
There’s no such thing as a bad person or devil incarnate – except we all are
There’s no such thing as a good person or god incarnate – except we all are
People tend to take things literarily and seriously, when it’s all just guidelines – we have to live by our minds and hearts, not our religious texts
The ego is often a fickle bitch, but may come in handy in certain situations
Fear is a friend who’s misunderstood. If you numb one emotion, you numb all. Vulnerability enables you to love.
The wolf you feed is the one who lives.

Probably learnt much more, that just doesn’t come to mind at the mo.

@rickyferdon, It’s really motivational to see your attitude about teaching. I just became an English teacher after moving here to China, and I love it when I get to connect with the kids. Sadly it’s hard to find stable work here, so I don’t feel like I have responsibility over a class of students yet. Although I’m a calmer type of person, it’d be amazing to get the chance to grow into the kind of dependable and experienced mentor you seem to be. I admire your zest :>

that we are all god, the grass and trees are god, the air and your favourite drink is god, this entire reality is created within the frame of “god” so we are all a peice of that, that realisation opened up the rest for me :)

One of the most realizations I have had is that we live to strengthen and further the human species, and not necessarily to become the strongest individual ourselves. Were the point of life to become the greatest individual, the strongest person would live for as long as it took for a greater being to come on and kill him. Death happens to allow evolution and progress on a species level to continue, so each individual human life is not as important as the entirety of the population; no one person is worth more than any other. Therefore we should not live our lives focused on individual gain, rather life should be spent working cooperatively with one another to ensure everyones benefit.

HERE IT IS

Whenever you find yourself in a group of people who trick your conscience to believe you should feel guilt for something useless – Knock them the fuck out.

If only it were that easy

[Hidden]
Marlon (97) (@shoeopener) 7 years, 4 months ago ago

It’s easy. It takes no effort. Pay attention because I’m doing this only tonight (It’s 21:00 PM) I’m going to the store to buy chicken legs and beer. I’ll cook them until they’re golden and drink while talking with someone at the same time. After all is said and done and I feel peaceful enough, I’ll check out if someone needs to be knocked out because they didn’t have a plan at all.

lyfe (1) (@greenbreath) 7 years, 4 months ago ago

And what is your plan Mr. Marlon?

[Hidden]
Marlon (97) (@shoeopener) 7 years, 4 months ago ago

I bought a whole chicken instead. Go big and go home? I did both. Now I’m not even going to cook only for myself.

Do you get it, Mr. Stupid Question?

lyfe (1) (@greenbreath) 7 years, 4 months ago ago

No I still seem to be missing it. What are a family of Austrian white seals doing in your bathroom?

1) Everything is temporary.
2) You have to grow up and take responsibility at some point.
3) Don’t follow blindly. Do your own research.

Marlon (97) (@shoeopener) 7 years, 4 months ago ago

That too.
