the world is not plotting your demise.

“It’s not that they want to see you fail, it’s that they want to see themselves succeed first.”
-Me

Yeah, yeah, I’ve got a big ego for quoting myself. Big fucking deal. It was a realization I had on the squatter but minutes ago (notice the pun). I felt compelled to share it (as it inspired this post). Please, all criticism is welcome…

But really, so often do we point fingers and blame external forces for the deficiencies (what the fuck is a “deficiency,” honestly?) that we see in ourselves. We’re a part of the bullshit we claim to be separated from. Yo, I’ve got news for you all: If you’re sitting on your ass, you’re part of the problem. And although crying got you attention when you were young, it’ll only elicit laughter from those who have come to realize, and harness, their potential. I mean, shit, I have shitty nights like everyone, but I know that they’re going to happen, and so I don’t ever situate myself in the misery. It’s pointless. Reset your mood. Take a fucking nap or listen to some music. Start over tomorrow, if you’re lucky enough to be invited there.

And about this notion of being underprivileged or undervalued or what other load of bollocks we can come up with for ourselves. CUT IT THE FUCK OUT! Now, I’m no expert, but I’m pretty sure that Gandhi wasn’t born into royalty, nor was Martin Luther King Jr. conceived at the best of times for a member of his “race” (this can be argued, I’m aware). The point is, your circumstances matter less than you think they do. “If you can’t change your circumstances, change your attitude regarding them.” Someone smart said that shit, hence my incorporating it into this post. You all (myself included, I am in no way above or besides you all, I only say “you all” as a sort of addressing mechanism), need to realize that you deserve absolutely nothing. Absolutely fucking nothing. The world was here before you were. Nature invited you here. So don’t fucking complain…about anything. Please?

But yeah, about overcoming your ridiculous sense of imprisonment. “Real obstacles can be overcome, it is the imaginary ones that are unconquerable.” Straight truth right there. You can be who you want to become. And quite literally, you are the only one empowered enough to make that transition. It is up to you to navigate through life’s intricacies. Guidance is rare, and is to be appreciated, but not relied upon. So thank your family and friends, but don’t indulge in their offerings. They are support. Whatever other role you think they play is arbitrarily decided upon, and may get you in trouble. Just saying.

Everyone is selfish, at least a little bit. If you don’t agree, then fuck you, because you’re lying. (Please pardon my language…it will persist to prove points.) And if everyone is this way, at least a little bit, then why should we ever expect others to value us as we value ourselves? That shit ain’t even logical. You know yourself better than anyone else. You love yourself more than anyone else. It is your job to sustain yourself. Other people provide support, but that’s it! Please consider that. You won’t find answers in other people (I have qualms with answers in general). Spend some time with yourself and figure out what you want. That’s all that matters to you anyways. What lies around you remains a secondary concern, truthfully speaking. But that is not to say that you should disregard your surroundings, only that you should engage when YOU are ready to! How are you going to give love to others when you’re still working on giving love to yourself? Patience! Solitude is underrated and should be utilized more often. Take a year off of school. Spend some weekends with your lonesome. Befriend yourself. Get in touch with reality.

But for fuck’s sake, no one is after you. No one is deliberating plotting your demise. People will attempt to snatch your time and energy, yes. That’s called Capitalism. But remember that you’ve more time and energy than anyone can ever take from you. You’re the pilot motherfucker. Smile at the passengers and take them someplace beautiful…when you’re ready.

Great post. My contribution will be this quote, “Work out your own salvation, do not depend on others.” (Buddha I believe but it has been said to be misquoted)

And hey man, some people get into some pretty shit situations… you could say they have people deliberately plotting their demise (quite fucking literally).

But yeah, your point is well taken. All power is within, the answers are within. No need to rely on others and become dependent on them. Believe in yourself and you will know the way.

@egarim, By calling one’s situation “shitty,” one inherently recognizes the fact that there is a better reality out there that is able to be attained. (As you may be able to imply, I’m not much to sympathize with the plights of others, although I do acknowledge them and can relate to them.) To bask in sorrow is to waste time though, at least in my opinion. It may be natural, but it’s fucking unproductive. It’s a bad habit that we should work to rid ourselves of.

@optimystic, it’s true that we have more say in our lives than external factors would have us believe. And thanks for putting this out here, because after all it’s easy to forget that your potential is still unspent. It’s easy to fall into the trap of believing in conditioned limitations instead of believing in your ability to do what you like. However:

“People will attempt to snatch your time and energy, yes. That’s called Capitalism.”

I still say fuck them for that.

@theskafish, Not a problem man. For whatever reason I feel that it’s my responsibility (really, all of ours) to remind each other of these things.

And about that particular comment, I’m not saying that that’s justified at all (the robbing of our time and energy), I’m merely explaining why it happens.

@optimystic, “And about that particular comment, I’m not saying that that’s justified at all (the robbing of our time and energy), I’m merely explaining why it happens.”

i know, i gotcha. and i’m saying that in spite of that your message is still valid, still holds true. all i’m saying is that the bad guys are still the bad guys haha. i’m saying i believe in my ability to be captain of my own life, i believe in my ability to grow and that the responsibility is mine, it’s not even possible for someone else to do it for me. but i still think that those who try to bring us down are rotten. that’s what i mean.

@optimystic, Not literally. Indeed, I do hate it when people play as oppressed victims. Hell, you could be cynical as much as you want but that’s the first and easy part of it.(People get stuck)
But I think opportunities would be more abundant and fair in a non selfish system. I learn a lot from stuff i hate, that’s me though. “Be your own master, owe it to you.”

@motorik, I fear that we cannot remove ourselves from our selfish nature. Everything I have come to know up until this point in my life has suggested it as an innate trait of our species. Therefore, I do not squander time hypothesizing about our dissociation from it.

I too learn much from that which does not at first please me.

Appreciate the comment bro

@optimystic, Respect. It is a strange thing to be the ego reflecting back on itself.

I love this post. This hate how everyone is concerned that the “New world order” is out to get them. It is merely a consequence of assholes like Bush helping each other to exactly like you said succeed before (or more) than we do. And people connect a million little dots because they don’t get the truth and think the world is out to get them. Well what the fuck are you gonna do, tell bush to stop taking our money? Of course they are going to try to succeed. All you can do is go for a walk in the woods, and find the true beauty in life. Like in all past cultures go on a spiritual journey to find yourself.

“How are you going to give love to others when you’re still working on giving love to yourself? Patience! Solitude is underrated and should be utilized more often.”

@optimystic, Yes thanks for the reminder, this quote really connected with me. I’ve been wasting a lot of my life trying to make my friends happy, when I’ve been so unhappy myself. I’m just now starting to realize that you can’t truly make anyone happy until you are happy yourself first

@arenotlost, Gotta hit the depths to know the heights. The ego is toxic but revealing.

@tlrlittle, The only thing people are ever out “to get” is themselves.
