These type of sites are great but…

…have you ever wondered that if our government is so oppressive (which i believe it is) and so powerful (which they are) then would these sites even exist? I mean all they do is harbor the opposition to them and give people a place to develop these ideas even more….or maybe that is just it, websites, groups, whatever are all giving us something to do regarding the topics we consider important. So although we all know that posting on here wont directly do anything to change the world, but maybe subconsciously it satisfies an urge to do Something, where in other places (such as countries that have revolts and whatnot) these outlets arent as available so that urge isnt satisfied and therefore requires Action. Along with the effects of things like flouride and other chemicals in food and water, maybe the fact that these type of sites are allowed is just part of Their big plan…

Any thoughts? This is just something i thought of while reading another post, havent played with the idea too much myself yet

@mcv01, They cannot censor the internet, only flood it with mind numbing bullshit. And the idea of this site being an outlet is true for most of us, indeed one might say that the entire internet is an outlet. If we haven`t emancipated ourselves mentally then it`s useless, but for those who are emancipated or wish to emancipate themselves the internet is the solution…so long as you know how to avoid falling into traps.

These sites are great… but they are full of conspiracy theorists who are misinformed. The amount of stupid conspiracy’s people are talking about on HE as if they are fact is annoying me.

@scott3600, he is not full of conspiracy theorists, i think you`re being paranoid.

did you forget that social media actually played quite a large role in a few revolts in the last couple years (most notably in Egypt).

More or less having control of the mainstream media is more than enough to “keep control”… not to mention, people are lazy, and whether you’d like to admit it or not, we in the US of A are pretty darn well off when compared to not only much of the rest of the world, but really we have it better off than anyone at anytime in human history.

Are things perfect, far from it… but they are also FAR from terrible, and it takes a whole hell of a lot more than whats wrong now to cause people to get up and do something about it. The threshold for action is SOOOOOO far away from where we currently are, period.

Sites like this exist because there’s no reason for them not to. Censorship on such a large scale like the internet is a last resort of a desperate organization when the people are already on the brink. Sites like HE are no threat until a threat is already imminent. Now that said, in countries like China, where censorship is so indoctrinated into the culture that most of the people don’t even realize the scale in which they are being manipulated, they can get away with it… just like, if some “super free” country suddenly cracked down to current day USA levels could cause an uprising, we already consider those are “baseline” levels and hence we are ok with it.

@mcv01, why do you think they are trying so hard to take over the internet. It’s the last frontier, they have no control over it and they fucking hate it.

@mcv01, “So although we all know that posting on here wont directly do anything to change the world,”

No, it does change the world. Everything you do changes the world. It’s not like the text is simply just text. Conversations happen, people learn, they take what they learn and they apply it to the world. Sites like these cause MAJOR changes. The blasphemy here. The. Blasphemy.

Yes, indeed. Sites change the world, it makes people stay on sites a lot.

@scott3600, Completely agree. This site and New Age thinkers in general would be sooooooooooooo much better if they applied the same discerning eye towards the internal logic of their conspiracy theories as they do towards religion and government.
