Things you do that are against the norm

 L.T (@1love)7 years, 11 months ago

One of the things that I do is that I like to be in comfortable clothes where ever I go. I believe clothes should lean more towards personal comfort rather than for appearance. Not too long ago, I showed up to court in a t shirt and gym shorts because it was a hot day during a blazing summer. However everybody around me was wearing a suit, tie and long pants. My buddies that I was with, also wore these attires and it turned out we had to stay there for 8 hours. They were sweating, uncomfortable, and was agitated about the tightness of their ties where I was happy, comfortable and delighted from the air breezing by my balls. I did get some looks, some nastier than others but I didnt give a single fuck about their thoughts and opinions.

I feel like many of the members of this website do things that are against societal “norm” because we feel that we should not be obligated to do something just because everybody does it. I was wondering what kind of things do you guys do that is unusual compared to what most people do?

@1love, preach on, my brother. I rock comfort whenever I want, and if someone tries to insist on me changing that, I do as little as possible. I get dress pants that have some elastic in the waist so they can be stretched and stuff. I like to sit weird sometimes, and having stupid dress pants on kind of gets in the way of that.

As for day to day, I have these fantastic denim-appearing, cotton shorts with cargo pockets…they are so soft and full of utility. I wear them often. I will always rock comfort.

As for my personal one to contribute, paying to get my hair cut is retarded. I hate the concept, and so I don’t do it. I was forced to get it cut in order to get a job this summer, but I’m never going back there so I’m letting it grow out again. I figure I can get it past the 8″ mark and donate and just start all over again, why the heck would I pay 15-20 dollars plus tip when I can save that and let it do its own thing?

I suppose I could write a book on things I do that are weird compared to the norm. Ever since I’ve started on my journey of awakening, I become more and more aware that we are all “One” at some fundamental level and I care less and less about what other people may think about my eccentricities.

One of the things I do that people think is weird, is I openly talk about my experiences from seeing auras to my experimentation in effecting reality with my own creative spark. Most people think I’m a little crazy (albeit intelligent), but I do meet some amazing people that I wouldn’t have met had I kept quiet about my experience.

I take responsibility for my own life. Very rare these days.

I am polyamorous.

I am mentally stable and stay clear of drama (I never get angry or sad or shit like that.)

I have no TV, no radio, no videogames.

I do not use chemical detergents, soap, toothpaste, deodorants, or any shit like that. I don’t put toxic chemicals on or in my body.

I eat raw meat frequently, I only eat “superfoods,” I never eat or drink industria/factory made shit “food,” no candy, no normal restaurants.

I work out hard everyday, no matter what. I work hard on my business every day, no matter what. I make sure to learn useful stuff everyday, no matter what. And I make sure to enjoy it all and make it fun, no matter what.

I don’t drink alcohol, I don’t smoke, I don’t get stoned, I don’t do drugs.

I’m a dedicated occultist, I’ve got lots and lots of books on the “secret arts” and use that knowledge daily.

I don’t give a shit what anyone thinks about me or my way of life, I don’t give a shit what norms and rules others want me to follow. I live MY life, I follow MY bliss.

I always make sure to get my needs met, no excuses, no blaming, no bullshit, no matter what.

I apply the 50% rule to everything I gain. Only half of it is for me, the rest is my gift to the world.

I always do whatever the fuck I want.

I use lots of “offensive” language, or more correctly I speak my mind without pussyfooting or sugarcoating to avoid upsetting some dumbass.

If I help someone, I don’t just give lame advice or hand out quick fixes. I take them under my wing and show them the way. I don’t give a man a fish, I only teach a man to fish

I have the life I want, I’ve streamlined it all. I’m “winning,” so to speak.

@manimal, “I do not use chemical detergents, soap, toothpaste, deodorants, or any shit like that.”

Off topic, but how do you get around using these things and maintain cleanliness, especially in regards to dental health?

Damage_Controll (18) (@simple7enigma) 7 years, 11 months ago ago

@1love, i defend both sides of an argument. I see that right and wrong are relative things, an it pisses off majority of people. I am a hypocrite against myself ex. “Dont smoke crack its extremely bad for you.” I would then go smoke health hazardous crack.(i dont actually smoke crack but you got the point.). I find myself loving people who are at complete war with each other. I like to help people not matter what they’ve done in the past or what they are doing in the present.

Manimal (2,998) (@manimal) 7 years, 11 months ago ago

@theskafish, Cleanliness is no challenge, in fact the body takes care of most of it on its own.

All those chemicals and all that scrubbing destroys the protective horn layer of your skin, which means your skin is exposed to infections and stuff, that’s where a lot of uncleanliness comes from. While the soaps and shit may make you cleaner temporarily, they make you dirtier long term. And still, most of the “clean” effect is just perfume, just because things smell nice doesn’t mean they’re clean (most cleaning products are heavily scented to make things appear cleaner than they are, you just cover up the bad smells with a stronger “fresh” smell.) And you know, water is very good for washing your body, most shower gels don’t really do anything to make you cleaner, wind and sunlight is good too, especially for removing smell.

Body odour is from dead skin and bacteria. If you keep your skin healthy, that won’t really be a problem. Smelly sweat is due to these same things, but the main amplifier is clothes which traps the bad smelly stuff on your skin. Most of the time I just wear loose fitting shorts so that’s not a problem for me. Also, a healthy body doesn’t smell much, unhealthy bodies smell a lot more because they’re full of rancid shit.

Dental health is very simple. I brush and I floss. Fluoride really does nothing good for your dental health, other than kill excess bacteria that shouldn’t be there in the first place. Fluoride is actually bad for your teeth, it weakens the natural enamel production, and it traps dirt inside the new added enamel. That’s why people get gray teeth. Also, ever notice how some kids have spotty teeth? That’s because of fluoride. Teeth don’t just go bad by nature, how do you think humans would have survived before the invention of dental hygiene products if their teeth couldn’t sustain themselves? The teeth stay great unless you abuse them, if you’re healthy you don’t get cavities or tooth decay. Those things happen when you feed excess bacteria in your mouth (sugar is the main culprit, but not the only one) and when you expose your teeth to too much corrosive stuff. Especially if you brush them while that stuff is still on your teeth. Also, calcium deficiency is a main cause too.

The notion that the body couldn’t take care of itself is just crazy. How do you think we would’ve survived if our bodies couldn’t stay strong and remove bad stuff on its own?

Since I stopped using all that bad stuff, I’ve never been cleaner in my whole life. I’ve got “perfect” skin and hair, I don’t smell, I don’t get all greasy, all those things are just symptoms of unhealthy skin, and those chemicals make the skin unhealthy. I don’t use any of that stuff, and I have no trouble at all with meeting people or getting funky with the ladies or anything like that. It’s all just a bunch of bullshit they tell you so that you will buy their worthless products.

Alex Mayle (78)C (@alexmayle) 7 years, 11 months ago ago

What do you do to clean your hair? Just water? And do you just brush your teeth without any toothpaste?

L.T (151) (@1love) 7 years, 11 months ago ago

@manimal, its funny cause I was thinking the other why I’m brushing my teeth with toothpaste that contains numerous unnatural chemicals where my tongue is absorbing a lot of these toxic substances. I finally realize that I’ve been brainwash and that using toothpaste to brush your teeth has been implanted in my brain from a young age. Anybody that has accidentally swallowed even a tiny bit of toothpaste can tell you how toxic it really is.

I’m also trying to change my diet like yours where only natural food comes in, where if it doesn’t go bad in 3 days then I’m not eating it. Besides fish, is there any other kinds of meat do you eat raw?

Also since you have no TV, do you just use the internet as your sit down entertainment? Do you still watch tv shows, movies, documentaries, and sports?

Dominika (55) (@dominika) 7 years, 11 months ago ago

some of the things i do:

for one thing, i dont wear a bra. There are a lot of women out there that look down upon it, but theyre sitting there all uncomfortable, while my boobies are free :]. I have a small B cup, so i dont actually need the support and dont understand why they even make bras B cup and smaller.

Also, i typically dont wear shoes. Shoes are also pretty bad for you and the reason many people get smelly feet or fungal infections are because they wear closed toed shoes. Warm+ humid= ideal conditions for most infections.

I dont really use eating utensils either, and especially not napkins. not unless i need them (Ex. spoons for soup, etc.). Why use napkins and waste paper when you can just wash your hands, or better yet, just not eat so fucking messy?

Lars (5) (@quoteyoda) 7 years, 11 months ago ago

@manimal Thank you for your honesty, I really respect your choice of lifestyle. I have for quite some time been trying to implement alot of the basic principles you are speaking of in my life, but I keep experiencing setbacks that I know is 100% my own fault. I guess my question for you is if you have some kind of advice on what parts of your lifestyle to execute first, to make the other ones follow easier?

And a second question pop, all though a littlebit off topic: Beside the fact we are being told alot of bullshit to buy worthless products, what are your thoughts on that alot of these products and their toxic chemicals might make us easier to control? Sorry for the personal approach but Ive been following this community evolve for several years and as Ive read shitloads of your comments, Im particularly interrested in your take on this.

I have the same thing. I carefully check the fabric and feel of a garment before I buy it, and I always dress for comfort. However, my situation is slightly different. My sense of touch is drastically hyper-sensitive (as is my sense of hearing), so making skin contact with certain materials and fabrics causes excruciating pain. However, the upside is that certain materials and fabrics are like an orgasm to touch xD

btw- I don’t have any disabilities or anything, like I know sometimes hypersensitivity can be a part of autism, but I just have that one quirk

I live life, without giving a fuck.
That is something many people truly don’t do these days.

Dan (890) (@danfontaine) 7 years, 11 months ago ago

Smoke cigarettes in my driveway in my underwear and shoes.
Take a shower before I exercise.
Drink coffee at night.
Drive to the liquor store at work.
Forty of malt liquor and a four loko.
Smile and nod at people (90% won’t return it where I live).
Idk more later.

@1love, I am in track pants and t shirt everywhere I go. Comfort is essential ! Was actually thinking about getting some robes. Loose fitting stuff is where its at, especially in Florida.

L.T (151) (@1love) 7 years, 11 months ago ago

I dont could give a shit about school and grades. I just like to learn on my terms

I draw circles and triangles during class because those 2 shapes fascinate me the most.

I listen to classical music before lifting weights or exercising cause it shoots a shot of adrenaline in my body and pumps me up. Its something I’ve been able to control, even replaying the music in my mind while closing my eyes allows me to shoot adrenaline.

I don’t deny that there is a God and I dont accept that there is a God. Existence is my only reality

I dont like having insects in my home but when I do find them, I catch and release

Im not good but I like to play chess which I don’t find many people playing these days. If anybody is wants to play online, then please shoot me a message

Obviously, you’re not a golfer (605) (@donjaime23) 7 years, 11 months ago ago

@1love, Whenever someone starts telling me all about their religious beliefs and how they apply to the world, I smile, nod, say “Wow, that’s very interesting” and then silently & nonchalantly get on with my life.

I got over panic attacks when a neurologist had nervous ticks that were worse than mine on my own. That’s how the expert helped. I felt confusion and compassion. I manage my anger with dreaming and believe that only negativity and hate unites people, I believe that everyone united “against” something has a chance of winning a fight only with their inner issues. And I agree with @alexa
