Thirty floors up, pondering..

Now, you may call me paranoid, but cut the head, 7 more will grow, you don’t think you’re being controlled? You don’t think that they tricked you into thinking it was normal to arise from atop your bed, slide your feet into your repugnant slippers, watch the news (and believe it) whilst gobbling away your choice of food to break your fast, to go out and tap your foot to that pop song that is mounting the ‘charts’, to purchase a paper and read it (and believe it), to gossip about that vile cunt on the soap drama to your ‘mates’, or to buy the latest fashionable attire from the highstreet shops which are excessive in the regions of extortion, to update your facebook when you’re having a cuppa; or feeling lonely; or missing your dead nan; or when your gas bill is mountainous; or when the football team you support wins and I could go on forever… my point being is, as the course of your day runs out, you will never ever question the true nature of your own existence! Why? Because you don’t think there is anything other than this monotonous toll that is your (aswell as the vast majorities) life!!

How to stop what has been conspiring forever? I am saddened everyday, and since being here in London, I have stumbled upon some delectable minds, switched on in all their glory, all of which are stifled, no outlet, only the saviours in music, art, philosophy, quantum.. (see my drift? Catch it), just comforted in knowing we are not alone, exasperated or growing apathetic to the rest of society, but as the first one I met here, said so bluntly, with chicken hanging out of his mouth as we stuffed our stoned faces in nandos… ‘The more you know, you will suffer.‘

My issue is that I don’t even know where to begin.

Find petitions you agree with and sign them, speak out, talk to friends and family and make them aware, stand up for your rights, protest and don’t be afraid to know more.

…Well I think it’s rather comfortable, the way they’ve brainwashed us into sleeping.

Pre-programmed behaviors of self-preservation (like eating or social interaction or comfort) don’t fit my definition of “brainwashing.”

Stop pretending that people didn’t choose to spend their time talking to friends through a computer screen from the comfort of their own home because you want to blame it on some corporate or governmental (or both) power that is trying to keep freedom at bay. The feeble human mind is always trying to find the easiest way to do something without having to do anything.

But don’t let me deter you from freedom. There is no such thing as freedom. Your decisions are based on your experiences. And those experiences are created from decisions based on previous experiences (your own and those involved). And those previous experiences are based on similar older experiences. Ad infinitum.

There exists only the will and passion. Your passions are what help you push your will forward. Don’t waste your life worrying about how and why others are wasting their lives on Facebook and YouTube and Reddit. If your passion is art, then “do” art. If your passion is math, then “do” math. Write, play, draw, paint, drink, smoke, teach, learn, do what you will, but do it to the fullest.

You’re post seems to represent society as generated from the top-down; however, this is analogous to the theory of creation being a top-down construct based on an intelligent designer.

This is in contrast to what I believe to be the truth whereby the world and the biosphere were created from the bottom-up through the mechanism of evolution.

In fact, society is created from the bottom-up through collective wants/desires/fulfillment of contracts/etc. While you can make a reasonable claim that certain news/media sources/politicians are attempting to deceive you/occupy you with inconsequential things, the truth is that each and every person contributes to this common-culture/society in a self-reinforcing manner.

If you reject the institutions that you dislike, then perhaps you can make a difference in changing society the way that you would like. However, collectively – I think society is the way it is because most people like it that way/don’t think there is a viable way to change it.
