I’ve recently been taking a 7 month break from school/work/everything to live in a new place (Montana) and do a bunch of traveling and living. I just completed a 3 week trip between Colorado/Utah/California and it was amazing, tons of great experiences. I wanted to hear about other HE-er’s travel experiences! Share stories, pictures, lessons, etc. Everyone should have travel experiences at some point!

I try to do a trip somewhere every year. I cant imagine life without traveling. I prefer to travel in countries where my Canadian dollar goes a long way. I’m currently visiting family in Arizona till the 11th then I’m off to New zealand where i will start what i hope will be a year of traveling and working. I think the best travel advice i could give would be to never plan more than 2 weeks in advance and always be open to anything. In the past two years ive been to over 8 countries. and probably only spent around $6,000. couchsurfing.com is a great resource for free accommodation and also a great site for learning about countries and getting to know the locals. also roadjunky.com is a great resource. I would suggest never getting a lonely planet you will experience more off the beaten track that way. and its usually out dated information anyways. If your planning a trip I found the best way to make sure you follow through with it is to make a date then tell everyone you know that your going. That way you will feel more obligated to actually go.
