umm..

Hello…well I think that’s enough ’bout me. But I am kinda curious, hence the joining here milarky, why does the need for affirmation of our (a general “our”) exist? Why can’t we just pootle on our way without the need to confirm our thoughts/ideas through trying to persuade people to our way of thinking? And why is my 2nd toe longer than my big toe? Whilst I think of it..why do people continually try to persuade me I will like ice cream, when I don’t and am more likely to throw it than eat it?

helloe!

hmm… that’s actually true, why is it so? but at the plainest level i dont think its about confirming and persuading as much as it is about expressing whatever it is you have in mind. because really, in one way you’re utterly alone all your life and its just a need to connect and be loved. i read something recently to the effect that everything you do in life, every single thing, is to be loved by others. and i guess that is to escape the utter loneliness we’ll feel otherwise. i dont know why that is, now… so i havent really answered to your question. but Hi! and if you’re throwing the ice cream, do throw it at me :)

welcome! I’d say you never really are 100% certain about your ideas, hence talking to other people about them and trying to persuade people

same reason as why you’re posting this.. It’s a slippery slope.

I guess as long as you’re sitting on a tin tray, a slippery slope can be kinda fun! :-)
No idea if I’m replying right so if it all goes pear shaped… sorry in advance!
OOOOOooooooo punch and coconut, thank you!
I’m not sure why I posted, I think it may have been due to the fact that this is the first time I’ve come across a forum that isn’t about ;-
a) Does my bum look big in this?
b) Does my bum look big in this?
I actually got sent a link for stumbling? And it stumbled me here, so here I be… I seriously am unfussed about affirmation as long as people are poliate about telling me I’m talking crap, then that’s fine, I’ve sorted God-belief out, it’s “maybe” :-) I’ll find out when I get there, or not.. as to the rest of life, I agree, my views/thoughts/abilities change daily, so I really don’t have a clue and I like that.
As you’ve been so kind with welcoming snacks, I thought I’d reciprocate, here, have a sprout and marmite sandwich, fresh this morning :-)
PS please feel free to correct my appalling forum etiquette, if there is such a thing.. clueless, me.

We’re all mad here. I’m also not a big fan of ice cream. Although I wouldn’t mind some. Actually I don’t care. I am always telling these guys to stop wondering why they exist or something, but no one listens. That’s why I make fun of them most of the time. There are the same discussions of this bullshit since the beginning of mankind! There’s a lot of the bullshit on the site by the way. You can read some of the crazy interpretations of existence here if you search.

By the way, “it’s never your bum that makes you look fat and big. It’s your face!”

@lottie, actually, loving your forum etiquette, and hoping you’d be posting often. cheers to being here, its interesting to know how people found this site, its like the origin stories of superheroes a little bit :P, but the whole alchemist theory/Law of attraction seem to be working here because people who found HighExistence certainly do seem to be looking for one.
never had marmite sandwich before so thanks!

@vizznou, i like dosa or idli personnaly.marmite sandwich with a good butter on fresh bread, im sure you would like it too, on a hot day. with a cup of CHAI.
im not sure what is being discussed here. i just thought i would throw this thought out.
we are all like an island in the middle of a lake. sometimes other people come on boats to visit us. but normally we are just alone in the lake.

it is like that. we want to communicate out ideas to prove that we exist. if not. we could be silent and just be that island. also ok i guess . HE is all about sharing ideas.

@mamadragon, as I noticed, @lottie, was telling us about the obsession of existence and how do people seek it with no progress, ergo it wouldn’t matter if you throw your ice cream or not at all.

We are very analytical as a species and this is our known existence. This existence is all I know, so I might have a little obsession with it. Anyone who says they don’t might very well be telling a lie. Even the guy in the corner, snide and turning the world upside down with philosophies of lesser optimism is a product of obsession with this existence.

http://watchseries.eu/search/everything%20and%20nothing

voila. there is the link. it explains everything and nothing. watch it

the guy explains that there are as many grains of sand on all the beaches of the world as there are stars in the sky. … that puts a lot of things into perspective for me. how about for you>>?
