What 3 truths would you hang your life on?

I used to believe only one thing can be true. The Descartes “I think therefore, I am” or the fact that I’m experiencing something. I’ve added only one more to my list (and it’s still somewhat in question I suppose, but it ranks higher on my scale) and that’s Love is the preferred option. My third? I guess it would have to be “We can’t absolutely know one thing unless we absolutely know all things.”

So what 3 truths would you hang your life on?

@googaloo, love feels good, death is inevitable, and my farts stink.

@yoinkie, I agree with 1 of those statements. The others we’ll need samples for further scientific research at MIT

@googaloo,
We are connected to something divine.
To reach wholeness, we must each embrace our shadow.
Earth is a school, and we are here to experience and learn.
Empathy solves a lot of problems. (that’s more of a word-of-advice one…)

@googaloo,

Yeaaaaaa, I like that:
“We can’t absolutely know one thing unless we absolutely know all things.”

I had a similar observation related to that. If you bring a man from the past to the present day and ask him to tell you how the world was back then, he wouldn’t be able to do it. He would only be able to tell you his perspective of how life was back then, not the world’s perspective.

From this I concluded that the only thing that can tell you everything about everything is “everything”. If you really want to know the answer to everything, you need only to look inside of yourself, because you are everything. In a sense, objective reality existing inside subjective reality.

Righteous. Really liked how you put it though.

@sandman, “To reach wholeness, we must each embrace our shadow.” – Thought provoking

@monkeyzazu, “objective reality existing inside subjective reality” ha! I guess we just traded good verbiage for some of our internal thoughts ;)

@monkeyzazu, subjective reality exists inside objective reality and is its reflection. thats why you can look inside of yourself to find the answer to everything. :P

As any master of the martial arts would say…
Do not be a slave to the form!
The other 2, well, there is only one truth, and there are over 7 billion of them, one for each of us. Uhhg! I can’t count to 3!
