What are the "little things" you have found in life/What makes you happy?

Nate (@natethethinker)9 years, 3 months ago

What things in your life have you been present for and enjoyed or still enjoy? I know some big ones are Child Birth, Weddings, but please share any memory, any thing you do daily, what is something you noticed that few did or do, something that might move you. I come to this site because it drives me and moves me. The people of this site are what drives and moves me, so please let me know what drives you, thank you all!

Ive enjoyed a hot shower followed by a cold shower since I was a kid. As cold as it can go. Just imagine diving into the middle of the ocean.

Working with children- they always have the most amazing and heart breaking things to say. They are so sweet and innocent. I love helping them learn and it gives me such a feeling of fulfillment. Cooking a really great meal for my little family. And I also enjoy gardening, but I currently live in an apartment that doesn’t get the greatest light onto my porch- but as soon as I can I will be having my own garden with fresh herbs, veggies and fruits!! There is nothing like a garden fresh meal.

getting a big hug from an infant… the best feeling in the world is when they wrap their short tiny arms around your neck trying to make their hands meet… then resting their head on your shoulder… as if nothing in the whole wide world can hurt them because you’re their shield

@heavydreamz, I take showers in the dark, it builds on the other senses and when I switch to cold it reminds me of being under a waterfall, thank you!

@jcck1496, thank you, I really dislike the sounds of cars and such, I guess I should just be more open and accepting of them, but I love nature and the sounds of rain on leafs or wind through trees and trees swaying =]

I sat outside this morning at my sisters in the woods and just looked around, I saw a spider jumping on a log, and bees landing in flowers. I saw a dragonfly watching me then take of in there unusual flight style, so much out there, so much to be amazed and grateful for, thank you guys so far for your posts!

Gentle breeze, forests, snow, sun, rain, animals, taking a piss when you really have to pee bad.

Breeze on a hot day, a gorgeous view of the sun setting/rising, snow, cannabis, realizing something I had no previous experience with (about life/society/ideas), meeting new people, there’s a lot of things. I’m just happy cause I took some 5HTP and Kratom but I wasn’t very happy earlier today.

I once read a book called “Yeah Dave’s guide to livin the moment” It explained in the first chapter how if you could find three good things in every day you would become a naturally happier person. Every day, or almost, I try to find a beautiful, delicious, and funny or entertaining moment. Enjoying the little things is so fulfilling if you think about it. Todays observations were:

1.This butterfly landed on my car, the detail in it’s wings was so intriguing.
2.I had ribs from a rib burn off today, I must say I was quite satisfied.
3.So today I woke up on the floor…I clearly remember going to sleep in a bed, and later on I found a bump on my forhead near my hairline, So apparently I was so asleep I must have rolled off the bed hit my head on the table and still continued to sleep….how the hell does that even happen.

My. Life. Is. Never. Dull
:D

the smell of coffee, the sound of the bugs outside on a summer night, girl scout cookies, having someone randomly smile at you, getting a random hug from a friend, night time bike rides, Motown music, finding a great new song/band, sunshine through the window in the morning, fireplaces/bonfires, a dog waging its tail, clouds, cupcakes, summer lightning storms.

@misssunbeam, there are these awesome trails I used to run and bike on 400 acres of woods, and it happend to me many times, but just being in nature is amazing. I read somewhere that being around water can improve recovery and health by 30%, nothing to do with the trails but it just came to me, thank you!
