@rutvijjethwa The answer is simple. Spirituality is the loving and empathy of your soul, while still making day to day rituals that are good for you. Religion is a belief in many people to help you along your own true path.

Spirituality is a state of being and does not require a religion. Religions are belief systems, most of which are based off of dogmas and traditions. All religions work within a closed system that only hold a slice of the truth. Spirituality is what lies within, it’s your own truth. Using your intuition and inner knowing (gnosticism) will give you this truth. There are many paths, one of which can be religion, but also can be discovered through music, art, nature, writing, reading, meditation and so forth. Use the path(s) that suit you the best and your inner knowing will transform into your being. Technically you don’t need any external stimulation to develop your inner knowing, but we tend to forget and get caught up in our lives that it becomes difficult to be our true selves. Hope this helps.

Religion is often about who’s in and who’s out, creating a worldview steeped in “us against them.” Spirituality rejects this dualism and speaks of us and them. Religion is often about loyalty to institutions, clergy, and rules. Spirituality is about loyalty to justice and compassion. Religion talks about God. Spirituality helps to make us godly. The two need not be at odds.

I think spirituality is believing in a grander power, a belief that there is some other force out there that is in charge. A belief that our souls may live on. I think that religion is the same but rules are added in that you have to follow. Religion also adds judgement, punishment, and fear into their system in order to control. It is like what @chodebalm said, its about whos in and whos out. Spirituality doesnt ask people to believe in a certain being, it doesnt require you to follow or fear.

religion is expressing god from a human (physical) viewpoint.(A limited viewpoint) Just as a human can be in one spot at one time. its a one sided view. spirituality is expressing god from a spiritual (non physical) viewpoint. (An unlimited viewpoint) just as consciousness is everywhere. religion would be picking one way to express god. spirituality would be picking all the ways possible to do it, not just being limited to one.

I relate myself as spiritual.

I just believe I live on after this body dies without following some rules of conduct and possessive god religion bring. The universe and everything that exist in it is god to me.

I don’t consider myself spiritual or religious, but I would guess spirituality is about coming to terms with your fears and desires, keeping them in perspective so you know when and where to discipline them so they do not adversely affect your reasoning skills.

You can do this and be religious but religion has defined parameters that members are supposed to be constrained to; it doesn’t mean they have to be constrained to it but just that they do not express or promote anything within that particular community that may raise contradiction to the system.
