1. The sun, waking you up naturally.
2. That feeling after you’ve jumped. You’re falling, and there’s only one way to go. You can’t take it back. In a few split seconds: fear, anticipation, exhilaration.
3. Sticking your head out of the car window on a cool evening…Your breath is taken away.
4. A roaring fire on a cold winter night.
5. Meeting someone who really likes to think and question. Oh the conversations…
6. Knowing you’ve made someone’s day better.

I love the way the lights flicker on in my music library when I walk it.

The popping of popcorn.

The smell and feeling of whisking honey, boiled down orange juice, freshly ground cinnamon and whipping cream together.

The twang of a steel lap guitar.

Hitting the last period of an essay.

@icymore, i had the most peculiar experience while reading your post.. half way down your list i really started to feel the emotions and sensations associated with your list of things you love. it made me happy and reflective, and a thought went through my head that whenever I am feeling down or need to pick myself up I should read and feel the comments on this post. Just as I read “the presence of a sleeping cat” I really connected with you because of my cat sleeping beside me that moment. This was the first time i had seen him in weeks. And the last comment, of coincidences. It struck a resounding chord with me, that I have something to learn from this moment, because I believe there are no such things as coincidences. I like to think of them as sign posts saying “the universe is telling you something, listen!” and I thank you for posting. It’s funny how we can affect each other – even complete strangers! Not to mention what we can learn from our surroundings if we bother to stop and See the sign posts. :)
